PROGRESS REPORT #1 (11/25/13)

The journey begins...

I don't know what my team will be yet, but I know I'm choosing Turtwig for my starter!

progress update:
- reached Opelucid
- put Crogg into storage, took out Poppip
- trained a bit to get ready for Victory Road and my final gym battle
- Mofu fainted in a previous trainer battle, but decided to fight Iris without his aid
- had a heated battle with Iris, so I'm writing it all down again like before

edits on the first post:
- Sneasel is removed from the bench list because of his stats (430 total)
- Removed the rule about having 2 or more of the same pokemon... because it's the dumbest rule I ever came up with. However, a new rule is implemented for the baby pokemon.

Progress update (It's a long one):

Retrieved the Devon Goods and rescued PEEKO. Received an assignment and a POKÉNAV from the head honcho of Devon Corp. Sailed to Dewford Town with Mr. Briney.

Battled and won at Brawly's Gym, all three of my pokemon were at Lv 18 at the time. I did have to use a couple of potions between matches. I barely won against Brawly; pulled victory out of the hat with MISTELLAH's Sing. I delivered the letter to Steven and sailed to Slateport City.

In Slateport I thumped Team Aqua again, and then delivered the Goods to Capt. Stern. I battled May north of the city and nearly got beaten by her Combusken. I fainted Wally's Ralts and then cleared the trainers from Mauville's Gym. After healing up, I took on the leader. It was an even closer match than the last gym, but SPARKELLAH's Double Team and a Dire Hit saved the day.

I then journeyed all the way past Fallarbor Town, skipping as many Trainers as possible, to catch an Impish Swablu. I named her MARYPUF'NS. I decided it was a good time to start breeding and hacked in a togetic, a kingdra, and a Dratini to be parents. I also caught a Slugma to help with the hatching and named him IN-Q-B8-R. After much bicycling, I hatched WIGGALEESA the Timid Dratini and SPARKY the Pichu.

That brings us to the current moment, where I am EV training once more, but this time with a Macho Brace I got from the Winstrate family. Now if only I could catch that darn pokerus.

nah, you don't have to hatch a new one. Go on with your pikachu. The rule changes were sudden, so you're not to blame. :)

Awesome. I'm fond of that little guy. Another thing, I've been using fast forward to speed up EV training (I'm playing on an emulator on my iPhone). Is this kosher or should I stop using it?

it's not really a bad thing to do and the harm it does to the challenge is either minimal or nonexistent. I'd say that if you feel like using it, use it. If not, don't. The moderation is up to the player himself.

Litleo is great on her own! She can serve as both a debuffer and a sweeper. Massive speed too.

See a theme? Speed is the game. It'll be great early on to have the speed advantage xP Hope Froakie's mixed movepool is handy.
