"Systems check... Ok!"
A man wearing a white lab coat was crouched over a complicated looking computer console. His back was turned so his face could not been seen. His hands skated over the knobs and dials, turning them this way and that, pushing buttons here and there, all at an amazing pace.
In the background a series of explosions could be heard but they were a fair way off yet. The explosions died down and were replaced by gunfire, then by screams, indistinguisable between pokemon and human. Another explosion sounded and it shook the room the man was in, it seemed to be a lab of some sort. The man stopped what he was doing to check that everything was alright in the lab and then feverishly went back to his console.
After more button pushing, dial checking, knob turning, a line of lights turned on at the top of the console and the man stepped back to look at the console as a whole. Whatever he was doing was working. A machine was hooked up to the computer by a thick swath of electrical cords of varying sizes and lengths and the man left his console to go up to this machine. It looked like a TV set but much bigger, the size of a door frame in fact.
More explosions could be heard outside of the lab and they sounded closer than the last lot. Marching footsteps stopped outside the lab doors. It was now deathly quiet, unnervingly so.
The man either didn't notice them or was just ignoring them, he just continued to check the machine. He flipped a number of hidden switches behind the machine and it began to hum. Another explosion came from the labs blast doors but the doors didn't budge.
Now back over at the computer the man who from all this work seemed to be a professor, pushed a single button and a picture flickered up on the machine's face. It was of a dirt road with healthy looking grass on either side, gently swaying in the breeze. It was so peaceful compared to the havoc that was happening in the lab.
The professor grabbed a bag from his desk and ran into the machine's face where he reappeared in the picture. Another explosion rocked the lab and this time the door was blown inwards and crashed into the computer console, making the image on the machine fade away. At the entrance to the lab were men dressed in black, guns in hand.
The professor is now lying on the dirt road that was seen in the picture. It is actually the road leading out of Littleroot Town. The man get up off the ground and shakes the dirt from his clothes. Pulling back his sleeve is a watch and after pushing a button on its side, he disappears.
He reappears in Fiery Path, Mt. Chimney. Taking a glove from his bag he puts it on, carefully checking it for something he doesn't find. Satisfied he reaches into another pocket of his bag with the gloved hand and pulls out a muli-coloured cube. He places it on the ground carefully and after pushing the button on his watch he disappears again.
Now he is in Petalburg Woods. Again he pulls a muli-coloured cube from his bag and puts it on the ground. He vanishes again.
He does the same thing at five other locations: Meteor Falls, Granite Cave, New Mauville, Route 119 (Tall Grasses) and the Seafloor Cavern.
Now at all these places pokemon reside and are curious about the strange object now found in their homes. At Fiery Path a Numel touches the cube and after a bright flash the cube disappears. The Numel was suprised but took no notice of it and continued as if always had.
In Petalburg Woods a Shroomish finds the cube and the same thing happens, a bright flash and then its gone. In Meteor Falls a Bagon discovers the cube. In Granite Cave an Aron comes across the cube. The cube in New Mauville was found by a Pichu. A Taillow searching for food in the tall grasses on Route 119 found the cube. The last cube was washed away from the Seafloor Cavern and was floating on the ocean until it was swept ashore outside Lilycove. It was then stumbled upon by an Azurill.
These cubes are called PokeForm Cubes or PF Cubes. The PF Cubes were made for humans to give them the ability to change their form into any pokemon they touch. However only the last pokemon they have come into contact can be formed. eg: human touches PF Cube. Human touches Salamence. Human can change form into a Salamence. Human accidently touches Magicarp. Human can only change into Magicarp.
But what happens when a pokemon touches a PF Cube was unexpected and the people who made the PF Cubes thought nothing would happen when a pokemon touched a PF Cube. They were wrong. What actually happens is that the next human the pokemon touches can form into that pokemon but cannot form into any other pokemon. The human can only form into one pokemon but the pokemon can grow and evolve where in the other case this doesn't happen.
NOTE: In both senarios the pokemon formed by the human is an exact duplicate, not the original pokemon. So when a pokemon touches a PF Cube and gives a human the power to take its form it is changed back into a normal pokemon and can continue to do whatever it wants.
You are a pokemon trainer, breeder, whatever in Hoenn and are near one of the mentioned areas. You can be at whatever level you want in your profession, it doesn't matter. You will come into contact with the pokemon near you and gain the ability to take its form. (The rest of the plot is a secret, join the RPG to find out!)
