Also try changing your banner with the theme of the website to make it contrast (blacks and greys currently) and mabye try and code your own layout. And if you want ads put it mabye below the disclaimer or the content

Few questions, what PHP framework are you using? (If any?) Source control system? Any particular coding styles?
