With happiness at level 20 I think is the earliest. That's what it says in a guide I read a long time ago.

And the answer to my question is a generation, not region. So it still stands: Which Gen had the most three-stage evolutionary families? (three stage e.g. Cyndaquil ==> Quilava ==> Typhlosion)

The answer to my question is that it's a trick question. In gen 1, there were only three stage evolutions from Gen I. In Gen II, there were three stage evolutions from gen 1 & 2. etc. Gen V has three stage evolutions from Gens I-V.

Of course! It's just really hard.

I think we're at a misunderstanding. There are two E4 who were introduced in an earlier generation before they were an E4. Name one.
