So, this will start off and everyday I will post a fact about something starting with A, B, C, et cetera.
- (12/7/10) An aneurysm is a localized, blood-filled balloon-like bulge of a blood vessel. Aneurysms can commonly occur in arteries at the base of the brain (the circle of Willis) and an aortic aneurysm occurs in the main artery carrying blood from the left ventricle of the heart. When the size of an aneurysm increases, there is a significant risk of rupture, resulting in severe hemorrhage, other complications or even death.
- (12/8/10) Biscotti, more correctly known as biscotti di Prato, also known as cantuccini, are a twice-baked cake originating in the Italian city of Prato. The cakes are large almond biscuits, made dry and crunchy through cutting the loaf of dough while still hot and fresh from baking in the oven.
