The Rising Gym Leader (RGL) Challenge

Hey everyone! Welcome to my challenge! This is the Rising Gym Leader Challenge (From here on, RGL)! My name's Tyler. This is the first challenge I've ever designed, and I'm hoping that people receive it well (and that it gets approved, hah!). In this challenge, you are a young child going off on your Pokemon adventure. You've just reached the age to do so. Your excitement is through the roof. You've always idolized the Gym Leader, (your choice here), and want to grow strong and just like him/her. You go to bed to wake up the next morning to start your brand new adventure in to the world of Pokemon. Good luck!

    Team Building Rules

    1. Must choose AT LEAST two Pokemon from the Core Group
    2. Must pick a combined total of AT LEAST three Pokemon from the Core group and Alternate-Core Group
    3. You MAY pick UP TO two Pokemon from the Off-Type Group where applicable
    4. You fill the rest of your team in (after having completed the above criteria) with Pokemon of the same type as your Gym Leader, they do not have
to be listed on any of the lists, so long as you've completed the aforementioned criteria first. Dual types are fine. Primary or Secondary.

    5. You're encouraged to fully evolve your Pokemon and to create a full team of six, though none of this is required. I personally am not a big fan
of NFEs. But you may choose to run with NFEs if you wish! It's YOUR challenge!

See the Spoiler below for examples of the above rules if you need further explanation

    Spoiler:

    General Rules
    1. Although highly discouraged, hacking and trading Pokemon in to your game to create your team is allowed. Although,
to improve your challenge experience, it's recommended to get your Pokemon legitimately if they are obtainable within the game.

    2. HM Slaves are NOT allowed (This does not include storing Surfing/Flying Pokemon in your PC to withdraw temporarily
    for HM use, if necessary)

    3. Emulators and ROMs are allowed. However; hacked versions of games are not.
    4. There is no restriction on eggs you decide to port in. 6V, nature, and egg moves if you so choose.
    5. Starters and Legendaries are only permitted if they're listed under your Gym Leader's list of Pokemon; even then, you're limited to
only a single legendary in your team at any given point.

    6. It is encouraged for you to type stories in first person from your RGL's perspective as you post updates of your progress on this thread. This
helps great a creative environment for the thread and an enjoying reading experience for others. The more color and pictures, the better!

    7. Challenge is considered completed after having a fully evolved Pokemon of every Pokemon in your Gym Leader's list, every Pokemon of that
Gym Leader's type, and having beaten the Champion for your region.

    The Max Challenge
    1. Use only Pokemon on your Gym Leader's list. Including all three of his/her Core Pokemon.
    2. You may NOT hack or trade Pokemon in to your game for the challenge. If you have to wait several badges to get your first Pokemon, you are only
permitted to use your starter until that point. If you chose a type that matches a type of one of the starters, that must be the starter you choose. As soon as
you are able to catch your first GL-Pokemon, you must either release or put your starter away. This is the only exception to rule 3. In the case that you cannot acquire all the Core Pokemon within your game, you are permitted to trade for it. This is the only exception to this rule.

    3. Legendary Pokemon and Starters are NOT permitted.
    4. You may not choose Pokemon from the Off-Type Group.
    5. Typing the Story for your character (See General Rule #6) is now mandatory. Please use sprites in every post to show your team.
    6. After beating the Champion, you find out that your dreams to become the prodigy of your chosen Gym Leader have been shot down and you are not to
own your own Gym of your said type. But, you're determined. After completing the challenge (See General Rule #7), you must complete the same challenge once more, but
after choosing a new Gym Leader as your idol, you must raise another team following the same criteria. And you must catch and raise every Pokemon
of that type and conquer the Elite 4 and Champion once more with your new team.
