4th Gen The Rule Book and the S.S Ticket? Let's speculate a little.

Just done a Little Action Replaying and got the Items and the descriptions.

Rule Book: "It lists the rules for holding battles. For linked battles, you may choose which set of rules you wish to use".

S.S. Ticket: "The ticket required for sailing on the ferry S.S. Anne. It has a drawing of a ship on it".

So for the Rule Book it is just a plain Battle Rule Book and the S.S. Ticket *wink wink* a nod to an upcoming Gold and Silver remake.

The S.S. Ticket description is exactly the same as the one in FR/LG, so I have a good guess that this was not the intentional description.

Ah really?

One possibility is that its a safety measure just INCASE theres an undiscovered glitch in any previous games where you can make Pokemon hold unholdable items, because it'd make the game severly glitchy if an item got imported that did not exist.

I'm having a cruise through PokeSav now to see which items exist in Diamond and Pearl that are only supposed to exist in previous games

EDIT: PokeSav turns up nothing, the SS Ticket may of been implanted into the games coding as an early start for a Gold and Silver remake, just to get one item done out the way, or who knows, seeing as the trend Gold and Silver set was very popular (having TWO regions), maybe they planned on having the SS Anne make its way to Sinnoh to take players to Johto perhaps?
