I had a Macho Brace on my Shellgon, and it gained 10 HP in one level! It also gained like 7 Attack. You would have like ultimate pokemon if you gave the macho brace to a pokemon at level 5 and trained it to level 100! Okay, I have a tip. If you remove the Macho Brace before the pokemon grows a level, it will not gain the extra stat boost when it does grow thw level, even if you put it back on. Also, if lets say you caught a wild pokemon. Then you gave it the Macho Brace. It will not gain the stat bonus until the level after the next one. For example, you catch a lvl 25 Zigzagoon. You give it Macho Brace. You train it with Macho Brace and it grows to level 26. It will NOT gain the extra effects of Macho Brace until it grows another level (lvl 27). I hope this helps anyone who is trying to train their pokemon with a Macho Brace. :)

Doesn't it reduces speed or something?? That you gain less speed?

You don't gain less speed, just in battle you are slower. Kinda like you're paralized except you can always attack.

That isn't a bad thing.. So I should try it, does it work on EVERY pokemon or on certain types??

Every pokemon. I am not sure if it affects the other stats that did not grow to 7 or more. The were like 2 or 1, but the stat that got the highest boost changes every time. So it should be stronger than if it did not use a Macho Brace. Sometimes it boosts two stats to 7 or more. It all depends.

I looked it up on my GBA and every stat grows,
    but it reduces speed..

the macho brace doubles the amount of EV's ur pokemon gets and if you get pokerus with macho brace and the right EV's you can get +18 in one stat

sweet i got pokerus rite now... im going to train

Yeah, Macho Brace doubles the amount of EVs received per fight. You'll find that your stats won't rise that much on every single level, and the lower increases will cancel out the sky-high ones. The higher boosts will occur depending on the Pokemon you fight. The item basically does nothing except speed up EV training.

As a petty comparison though, +7 is nothing. I think it was my Flygon who received a +12 in Attack after fighting a load of Shuppets. ;)

Beat the family of trainers who live in the house along...some route. The one that leads to the desert. Not sure of the route number.

So if you were to train 2 of the same pokemon at level 5 with the same nature, only one of them will be holding the MB, will the one with the MB be stronger but slower?

Skarm: you must have it. Check your PC (in game. Not here. Doi)

Demonchaos: no, that's not how it works. Macho Brace doubles the amount of EVs you receive, and that's all. If you fight 252 Shuppets with no Macho Brace (providing you haven't already got max EVs), you'll end up with around 60 extra points on your Attack stat by level 100. If you fight them with the MB, then you'll only need to beat 126 to max your Attack out. Either way you're getting the same effect, Macho Brace or not.

The speed reduction of the Macho Brace is returned to normal after the item's removed. It's nothing to be concerned about.

Well I Figure Its Only Worth It If You're In A Hurry I Mean Me and My Friend Battle All the Time(I Always Win) And Sometimes I Give The Macho Brace To My New Pokemon So It Will Be Ready When We Battle PLUS I Give It To My Raichu Because Its Defence Is Low And I Want To Get It Up In A Hurry

Macho brace is just something essential to have on your pokemon when you're doing EV training. Even if you have the macho brace, remember that there's a cap on the amount of EV a pokemon can get. It's still a lot easier and safer to just go the EV training method

I was doing *hack* EV training against some Mewtwos in Sky Pillar, and my Gardevoir got 7, then 8, then 9 pts. in Sp. Attack (with macho brace of course) .

uh...I think the way your pokemon grew 10 stat points like that is 'cuz you were fighting certain pokemon only.
I raise all my breedable pokemon with the mach brace from lv 5 to 100.
and they only get boosts like that when I train for specific stats.

like say I were fighting only spindas for my spcial stat...but even then it's kinda rare.
your's probably had the pokerus while u were training it and it was holding the mach brace
then I could see how so much stat growth would happen.

The Macho Brace and Pokerus have nothing to do with the +10 stat increases. They just speed up EV gaining. Beating 252 Spindas without the Macho Brace would result in the same EV distribution as someone who had the MB attached and beaten just 126. Think of it as the EXP Egg for the hidden EV stats.

Also, it depends on the Pokemon. Kyogre would gain massive +10 bonuses in its Special Attack with the right EV training, thanks to it's already high Special Attack base stat. Whereas a Skarmory EV trained to have a high Special Attack would never receive that sort of bonus, thanks to its pathetic Special Attack base value.

i just got the item i lved 20times....it dont give any extra stats for me at all......is there something im doing wrong?
