The Shiny Dodrio Glitch in Stadium 1 and 2

So I was bored, and uploaded a team on an emulator from Blue Version to Stadium 1 and 2. And the Dodrio was olive green. In both versions. I thought I had a shiny, and then saw that guys on youtube had the same colored Dodrio. At that point, the odds that I had a shiny were nil.

Anybody else had similar experiences? Does this happen with any other pokemon?

Not so much of a glitch but I'm pretty sure yours is nicknamed . In stadium 1 if you changed the name to lower case or gave it any other nick to your pokemon, it would change color .

There were several options for the colors, so it was kinda fun putting different nicks to the same pokemon species and see how it would turn out.

Then for stadium 2 shinies appeared and this stopped.

But if this did happen on stadium 2, then mostly it means olive green was the "official" color for those games, like venusaur's eyes that appear to be red there and not bloodshot.

Actually, having stadium 2, I distinctly remember, it did NOT stop, I had a mewtwo with max stats(or somewhere near, not sure they were maxed, but I remember even for a mewtwo it was potent) that I had nicknamed and it was this ugly reddish color wheras the normal ones were not nor were the shinies, in truth, shiny determined color, but nickname determined shades, what was interesting was some pokemon had a different game shiny color from the Stadium shiny color
