Chapter 1: Twinleaf Town
Number of Posts: 1

Description
A small forest town, Twinleaf is quiet and tranquil, free from trouble and pleasantly out of the way.

What to do in Twinleaf Town
In this post you must talk about either waking up or arriving in Twinleaf Town and receiving your first Pokémon from Professor Rowan.

-----

It was a beautiful and peaceful day in the small town of Twinleaf and Professor Rowan was just arriving to meet the new trainers who were going to help him with his research. The Professor wandered along the small path that led to the centre of town, in his hand was a briefcase which contained the all important Pokédex's and Pokémon.

"This looks like a good place to wait," decided Rowan, stopping pretty much in the dead centre of town and placing his briefcase on the ground. He rolled his sleeve back to check the time on his watch, "8:27," he mumbled, looking away, "They should be here any minute."

Note: Professor Rowan has forgotten to bring extra Poké Ball's, so you're going to have to head to Sandgem Town and get them from his assistant.

Jade looked around in curiousity, idily twirling her dog tags around in her fingers as she searched through the small town known as Twinleaf. There were only a few houses around, as well as the occasional tree. It was a seemingly boring area, but she wasn't here for a social visit. In fact, she was here for something very important, her first pokemon!

But first she had to find the professor that would give Jade her first pokemon. He was supposed to be getting on the old side, having white hair and mustache... and Jade could barely remember correctly, but she was pretty sure the man was supposed to have a rather stern look about him.

Looking around some more, she nearly gave a sigh of frustration before blinking at the sight of a white haired man standing patiently beneath two trees, obviously enjoying the cool of the shade. She hesitated for only a moment before putting on a fierce scowl and marching forward. The old man noticed her approach and turned to stare down at her, eyes and lips firm.

"Professor Rowan?" she questioned.

"That would be me," he answered gruffly, looking her over. "Am I to assume you are one of the trainers I am to accept today?"

Jade narrowed her eyes at his tone. "Jade Hoffmin," she said, "here to get my first pokemon." She made sure her voice was firm and strong as she looked hin in the eye.

Professor Rowan quirked his brows as he turned away from the girl, bringing out a list that had names. His eyes scanned it. "Ah, Hoffmin, there you are. You requested the fire type, correct?"

Jade was tempted to say, 'No! A dark type, actually!' but held her tongue. "Yessir," she said quickly, holding out her hand eagerly.

"Yes, yes," Professor Rowan said stiffly, handing over a pokeball and apokedex. He frowned. "You'll have to meet one of my helpers in the next city to recieve five empty pokeballs. It seems I've forgotten them."

"Right," Jade huffed, disappointed that she wouldn't be able to capture a pokemon right away. Oh well, she still had her starter to meet. "I guess I'll be seeing you," Professor," she said, getting a wave in reply.

Not at all put out by the old mans personality, Jade quickly rushed away, right towards the beginning of the route that led to a very grassy area. Taking hold of her pokeball, she threw it with a fierce excitement.

With a burst of white light, a small, reddish monkey pokemon with a small flame on its butt appeared. "Chim! Chim!" it screeched happily, jumping from foot to foot in excitement.
[PokeCommunity.com] The Sinnoh Quest

"A Chimchar," Jade said happily, clearly pleased with the pokemon. This little guy would certainly become a powerhouse when it evolved. She jerked her head towards the grassy route. "Come on, Chimchar, let's go see what you've got."

"Marc char," Chimchar said with a nod, already hopping out in front of her.

OOC: Much like my Sign Up this was really fun to do.

It was a bright summer's day in the town of Twinleaf. The Starly and Staravia were all chirping. Twinleaf Town was a rather small village. There weren't many houses in this fine little town. One house has much different to the others. Well it wasn't the house in general it was one particular area. The bedroom which belonged to a young boy of around the age of fourteen; this room was emanating a strange aura. Of course only few people could see this aura.

The young boy was called Lance George Lacrosse. He wasn't your average boy; everyone around him knew about how different this young lad was. He used to be normal but now something was definitely different. His parents though are going all out to try and change his change.

"Georgie, Time to get up baby!" Screamed Lance's mum from the bottom to the top of the stairs. Lance hated being called George let alone Georgie. Lance believes that his mother does this just to annoy the heck out of him. Lance decided that he wasn't going to get up. It was only 8:11 he usually didn't get up until midday. Why did she have the right to try to get him up early?

"Okay then. Lance please get up, me and your father need to have a long conversation with you!" Lance's mum gave into his ways and called him Lance. But she was trying to con him into doing something. Lance got up and quickly whipped on his usual clothes. He spiked up his green hair and tightly did up his belt. He began to jog down the stairs he liked these awkward chats with his parents. They tried to get him to do something then he would argue and they would give into him and reward him with extra stuff. Lance really wanted a new laptop; maybe this was the perfect chance for him to get a new laptop.

Lance proceeded down the stairs. At the bottom he waited and combed his hair in front of the mirror. Well not really combed as he moulded it with his hands. Lance moved his hair around until it was in a satisfactory position. He then walked towards the dining room. He knew his parents would be waiting in the dining room; sitting around the table and leaving a position in the middle of the table. Lance walked to the door and reached out his hand. He clasped the door knob and gently turned it. He then pushed the door open; Lance walked in. As he had predicted his parents had left a seat in the middle. Lance walked over and sat in the seat.

"Lance we really need to talk to you. Lance we know you have changed in attitude and well a lot of things recently. So we have arranged for you to go on somewhat of a journey. A Pokemon journey;" Lance's father began to explain to him. Lance's expression turned into a somewhat of a conniving one.

"So I really want a new laptop!" Lance responded. He really was inferring that he would do this journey if his parents were to supply him with a brand new laptop.

"Okay Lance so it's a deal. If you go on and complete this journey we will supply you with a brand new laptop. All you have to do is go meet Professor Rowan and he will give you a starter Pokemon and all the essentials. Then you can begin your journey. And we won't give you your new laptop until you can show us the eight badges of Sinnoh," Lance's Dad calmly said to his maniac of a son.

"Okay then. So where do I meet him?" Asked Lance; Lance figured that this journey would be rather short and that he would have a new laptop in just a few weeks.

"Well he told us that he would be waiting in the middle of the town. He was to bring a briefcase containing three Pokemon that you were to choose from. He was to be wearing a distinctive white lab coat." His began to explain to Lance. Lance stood up and walked off. He strolled up the stairs and collected a few of his belongings and placed them inside his brand new backpack; this of course was bought by his parents because of Lance's swindling. After he had filled up his bag he walked down the stairs.

After a brief goodbye with his parents; Lance walked out of the door and he was to begin his journey. Lance began to wonder around the small countryside town. He noticed how there was a lot more snow around the town then a year ago. The trees and roofs were topped with snow and there was a small pile of the frozen water in the corner of the town. Actually a lot of the Sinnoh region was now covered in snow. Recently the temperature of the Sinnoh had dramatically dropped recently. Maybe the professor would be interested in Lance researching these mysterious changes in temperature.

Lance then noticed the man his parents had described to him. He was a rather old man. He was average height and had Grey hair. He was wearing a very distinctive white lab coat and clasped a large brown briefcase in his hand. Lance assumed this is where the Pokemon were kept. Lance began to walk over towards the man.

"Ehem; you must be Lance. Your parents described you well. If I remember correctly you are here to receive your first Pokemon?" Asked the Professor to Lance; the Professor had instantly recognized Lance from the piece by piece description given to him by Lance's parents.

"Yes I'm Lance and my parents have conned me into doing this questy sort of thing. And if I complete it I get my new Laptop! Now just give me a Pokemon and I'll get started," said Lance he made a good job of sounding like he didn't care at all; which of course he didn't.

"Alright Laddie I'll ignore your annoying comments and get on with this conversation. In this briefcase there are three Pokeballs you may take one. On the left is Chimchar; on the right Turtwig and in the middle is Piplup. Now after you pick one of the balls you may take this device; it's called a Pokedex and it compiles information on all the Pokemon you have met." Professor Rowan explained to Lance.

Lance looked at the three Pokeballs he didn't know which one to choose. Lance had never really had a choice when it came to things like this. Lance grabbed the briefcase and shut his eyes. He shook the briefcase to mess up the order of the Pokeballs he reached his hand in and took one. He placed it in his pocket and reopened his eyes. He smiled at the Professor then waited for his response.

"Okay then here is you're Pokedex. And here are some extra Pokeballs," said the Professor he handed over Lance's Pokedex. He then started to frantically search his pockets for said Pokeballs.

"Um Professor there something wrong because I want to get this journey over and done with so I need this quite quickly," Said the ever in a hurry and moaning Lance.

"Lance if you're that desperate I suggest that you head to Twinleaf Town to collect some Pokeballs from one of my assistants," suggested the Professor. Lance nodded before walking off. Lance was soon at the edge of Twinleaf Town. He looked at his Pokeball before chucking it up in the air. With a small flash out came a small penguin like Pokemon. Lance pulled out his Pokedex and scanned his first Pokemon.

Piplup

The penguin Pokemon; it evolves into Prinplup. A poor walker, it often falls down. However, its strong pride makes it puff up its chest without a care.
[PokeCommunity.com] The Sinnoh Quest

Lance looked at the Pokemon before walking on. He didn't wait for Piplup he just waked on. Piplup then hurried after him. Lance's journey was now beginning would this journey and Piplup make a difference to his attitude?

Chapter One: Twinleaf Town

Rin walked silently. Twinleaf Town, in her eyes, was extremely disgusting. The ground was soft with fresh grass and earth, and clusters of small, round houses were scattered here and there. The sun also shone exceptionally bright here, and the trees were much too glossy for her taste.

She halted. An old man was standing in the middle of the trail, twitching impatiently. She walked quietly next to him and tapped him lightly on the shoulder. He gave a slight jump, then turned around to face her, scowling.

"You one of the trainers?" he asked gruffly, eyeing her suspiciously. Rin simply nodded.

"Well, then," Rowan grunted. "I s'ppose you're looking for this." He zipped open his suitcase and slipped out a small, red and white ball and a red device. Rin took them without a word.

"Thank you," she said quietly, her voice barely a murmur. Rowan didn't seem to hear her.

He scratched his head. "Sorry, but I forgot the spare Pokeballs at my lab. Would you mind going to Sandgem Town to fetch them?"
Rin shook her head.

"Good," Rowan said, satisfied. "Run along now."

Rin was not the type to 'run along', but she walked away silenly. She stopped a few feet away, resting in the cool shade of a nearby house. She casually tossed her Pokeball into the air. With a startling popping sound, the ball clicked open. A mass of red light escaped from it, taking form on the grass next to her. As the light slowly faded away, Rin gazed at her Pokemon for the first time.

It looked like a small lion cub. It had short, light blue hair on its head and front legs, but somewhere near the middle of its body, its fur shifted to a dark black. Its chest was a similar colour, while its front paws bore gold rings. Its large, golden eyes stared at Rin curiously. The tip of its thin, black tail was fitted with a four-pointed star. Rin's Pokedex flipped on and recited with a cool, digital voice:

"image removed"
Shinx #403 : Flash Pokemon
Type: ELECTRIC
Ability: Intimidate
Its entire body will flash if it senses danger. It flees while the foe is momentarily blinded.

The Pokedex continued:

Shinx
(image no longer exists) lvl.5
Curious Nature
Moves: Tackle - Leer

Rin glanced at her new Pokemon. It was one of the ugliest things she had ever seen, but oh well. It was a Pokemon, after all. She bent over, softly caressing the Shinx's head. It purred.

"My name's Rin," she said quietly. "What's yours?"

Shinx purred again. Rin thought it over carefully. Lei.

Alex stumbled in from the north into Twinleaf Town. This man had no stability what so ever as swerved on his way. His feet were killing him and his back was upset with him. He had just arrived in Sinnoh and traveled to Twinleaf Town accidently by mixing up the directions to Sandgem Town where advanced civilization would become closer. He moaned staring at all of the unsophisticated buildings and the suburban building.

"Hmph, I was supposed to be at someone's laboratory" he muttered to himself while staring at his flier. He just continued babbling on about how he would never find a professor in these parts. He had been so absorbed by his misery that walked straight into a person.

Alex's flier and the man's papers in his briefcase flew a flutter upon the two's impact. Alex growled before sighing and catching the man's papers that were in the air. When all had been collected Alex mummered something softly and set upon the path without recollecting his flier. The man just sat there and sorted through his papers until something caught his eye.

"Wait, young sir!" the man yelled at him while trying to stop him by waving the flier that had been forgoten at him. The man pierced his daydreams again.

"WHAT!" Alex barked frustrated, at the man. He stared keenly at the man wondering what was so important.

"It seems you received my flier!" the man began enthusiastically and catching Alex's attention. "I know on the paper it says that my lab is Sandgem, but I was called for some buisness here in town so I left a message for trainers to come here. I guess it worked, but my you came suprisingly early!" the man continued causing Alex's jaw to drop slightly.

"So you're going to give my first pokemon right?" he questioned suspiciously with a snobby look.

"Yes... just one problem" he awnsered back while stretching his arm to behind is back out of shame for his mistake. "I have the pokemon right here..." he continued while handing him the pokeball. "but I left the pokeballs at my lab... just go there and they'll be happy to give you your first pokeballs" he finished and bid him farewell.

Alex stood there for a moment while clutching the ball. Then he clipped it to his bag and moan louder than ever at having to cross that treacherous route again. He had been in so much disdain that he could care less about finding out what pokemon he has received as long as he knows he has it.

OOC: Sorry, for the later post... >.< I hope I didn't rush my post too much either >.<

The sun was slowly rising over the mass forest of trees as Selena slowly made her way from Sandgem to Twinleaf Town. It was small, free, and of course didn't have all the hussle and bussle of Sandgem.

"Getting a Twiggy Pokemon, aye Sel?" one of the black-haired girl's friends asked jokingly the day before. "It'll sure match your personality… only if you get the right one!" Selena just rolled her eyes at the memory of the petty comment and continued on her way to Twinleaf.

However, before doing that, she had bought a few dozen Pokeballs and they were stuffed away in her large, heavy backpack which the sixteen year-old carried with ease. She had bought them with the money she won from a bet:

"I bet you 8000 that you can't make it past the woods before sundown!" another one of Selena's friends had bet a week ago. Smiling and laughing at the bet, Selena had accepted and crossed the forest that was teaming with wild Pokemon before sundown. Selena was just a good wildlife expert and brought Pokemon food along and gave any to the Pokemon that she disturbed.

Once again laughing mentally at the memory, she stopped and looked around. She sighed peacefully, "This must be it." She said. Narrowing her eyes, she quickly scoped out a small crowd in the dead center of town. She pulled her arm up and looked at her watch. It read 8:41 and Selena grimaced. A bit late! She told herself. I won't have a good selection now.

Running off to the center, she already noticed a Chimchar, Piplup, Shinx, and Snover were taken. What was left?

She finally stood in the center of the small area and Professor Rowan looked up. "You must be the last trainer," he exclaimed.

I nodded blankly.

"Well then, don't have all day, right? Might as well get the journey and research started." The professor said again, leaning down and fishing into his bag. "There's only one Pokemon left. Hope it isn't a problem. It's a Turtwig."

Selena thought for a minute. A Turtwig was a grass type, but could grow into a perfect powerhouse Pokemon. It would become a grass and ground type and overcome all its weaknesses – even its fire type weakness…

"Not a problem in the slightest," Selena said warmly. "I was going to ask for that one anyway." Professor Rowan smiled and nodded. He quickly pulled out a Pokeball and handed it to Selena who took it graciously. Then, he fished again in his bag only to remove a Pokedex.

"Sorry, don't have any extra Pokeballs," Professor Rowan said apologetic. "My assistant has some in Sandgem Town." He handed me the Pokedex and I planted it in my pocket – one that I had on the jacket I was wearing.

"Not a problem either," I confessed. "Stocked up on Pokeballs. I was just in Sandgem Town."

Professor Rowan smiled and nodded. "Then I have no worries for you," he said again. "Good day and I'll see you again."

With a nod, Selena turned around and left the small, peaceful town. Finally stopping by the route to Sandgem, Selena thought it would be good to introduce herself to her new partner. Taking out the Turtwig's Pokeball and lightly threw it forward. The bottom half opened and an explosion of white light almost blinded Selena. It hit the ground and formed the shape of a Pokemon. When it cleared, a brown and green Pokemon stood there looking at Selena curiously.

The Pokedex in Jess's pocket rang. Professor Rowan must have put it on automatic:

Turtwig
Tiny Leaf Pokemon
Made from soil, the shell on its back hardens when it drinks water. It lives along lakes.

"Heya Turtwig," Selena said with a smile. The Pokemon cocked its head to the side, the two leaves on its head shaking in the slight breeze. "My name's Selena and I am your new trainer."

Turtwig seemed to smile and nodded, blinking its eyes in the process. It also dragged one of its front legs along the dirt path.

"Tur," it responded.

"You ready for the Pokemon gym challenge?" I asked.

Turtwig seemed anxious and nodded. "Giw twig," it said.

Selena smiled. "Alright," she said warmly. "Let's go."

Jade wandered through the tall grass, eyes searching for pokemon. Chimchar was walking at her heels, looking with much keener eyes. "Chi!" Chimchar said suddenly, pointing towards a strange looking bug. It was red and looked like it wore a suit. It also had a pair of large, black antenna.
[PokeCommunity.com] The Sinnoh Quest

"Perfect," Jade grinned. "Let's go, Chimchar," she said eagerly.

"Char char!" Chimchar said happily, jumping infront of the bug pokemon. It planted its overlarge arms forward, prepared to charge forward at the first opportunity.

"Kriko," Kricketot said lowly, leaning back warily, but looking prepared. Glaring suddenly, the red pokemon let out a deep Growl.

"Char..." Chimchar wavered, being the one to lean back. Its face turned slightly blue in fear.

"Don't let that feeble little Growl scare you!" Jade snapped at her pokemon. "Use Scratch!"

Shaking his head, Chimchar let out an annoyed huff before bouncing forward, large fingers poised like claws. "Chimch!" Chimchar cried, Scratching furiously at Kricketot's chest.

"Krikiee!" Kricketot cried as it was pushed back, little red welts covering its chest. "Ikcit," Kricketot crooned, letting out a deep huff and glowing a bright red for a moment.

Both Jade and Chimchar waited warily, but when nothing happened, Jade barked out her next attack, "Use Scratch!"

"Charmi!" Chimchar cried, growling eagerly as he ran forward and let loose with a furious Scratch attack. Chimchar crooned happily as Kricketot realed backwards onto its back, looking completely winded.

"Toto," Kricketot twittered angrily, quickly getting back to its feet. It once again glowed a bright red, but againn nothing happened.

Jade scowled at the pokemon, wondering what the heck was going on. "Chimchar, use another Scratch!" she ordered. "This bug doesn't even seem worth it."

"Cha," Chimchar barked in agreement, nodding before he charged once more on all fours. "Chim char!" Chimchar roared, coming down on Kricketot with his sharp claws.

"Krki," Kricketot wailed, eyes narrowed in both pain and anger. The red glow reappeared, but the glow began to spread and turned a bright white light.

Jade and Chimchar gapped before Jade let out a loud, "Get out of the wayBide!" as the white became a blast.

"Chm... " Chimchar faltered, eyes wide as the bright white blasted right at it, sending it flying. "Chimchaarrrr!" Chimchar screamed, bouncing and tumbling backwards painfully.

The blast didn't stop there. It even managed to blast Jade back, sending her rolling backwards, though not as harshly as Chimchar. Jade groaned as she held her side. "What the heck was that.," she hissed, nearly jumping a foot in the air as the mechanical voice of her pokedex spoke up.

Bide: The pokemon endures two attacks before attacking at twice the power.

"Now it tells me," jade groaned, rolling to her butt so that she was in a sitting position. She turned to glare at Kricketot. it was wilting, looking very damaged by all the attacks given by Chimchar, but the fire monkey was looking worse for wear.

"Chimm," Chimchar groaned, getting to his hands and feet, body wobbling a bit as he tried to find a balance. When he found it, he shook his head with a sigh, glad that his head had finally stopped spinning. "Char!"

"That's the spirit!" Jade cheering, raising a fist in the air from her sitting position. "Now finish it with Scratch!" she yelled, falling on her back to stare up at the sky, still winded frm the Bide. She would have to rely on her ears for this.

"Chimchar!" Chimchar roared, running forward with revenge on his mind, though his run was a bit awkward from his weak body.

"Krik," Kricketot Growled, trying one last attack in hopes of stopping its opponent.

"Che," Chimchar scoffed, too angry to give way to the fear that had crept up its spine from the eerie Growl attack. Gritting his teeth, Chimchar snarled, "Chhar!" as he brought down his sharp nails one last time, taking great care to rake them deeply across Kricketot.

"Krickik!" Kricketot screamed with its high pitched voice, tiny little hands flailing widly as it bounced away with several grunts. "Kr..." it whispered weakly, going limp.

"Charrr," Chimchar said with a sigh. Turning back to his trainer, Chimchar shook his head and limped over to his trainer and collapsed at her side.

Jade lifted a hand and plopped it down on Chimchar's head. "Good job, buddy."

"Char," Chimchar said softly, a happy smile gracing his face.

OOC: Once again so very fun!

Lance kept on walking away from Piplup. No way was this little pipsqueak going to slow his journey down. Piplup was very tired her little legs couldn't take much more of this constant walking. She was only a very new Pokemon and she tired quite easily. The strain Lance was putting on her wasn't very good.

Piplup's whining made Lance even more frustrated. Lance kept on walking eventually he stopped. He stopped because he was now at the beginning of a large patch of grass. This short stop gave Piplup the chance to catch up with Lance. Piplup struggled up to Lance until she was right next to him. He began to advance through the grass. Piplup lifted her arms up; wanting Lance to pick her up and carry her through the grass.

Lance obviously ignored this request from Piplup and kept walking forwards. Piplup had no other choice but to advance through the grass. Piplup started to walk through the grass. The grass was up to Piplup's shoulder. Piplup would sure be in trouble if she was ambushed. Lance decided to look into his heart and walked over to Piplup. But instead of picking her up he grabbed her by the scuff of the neck and began to drag her alongside.

Then the grass in front of Lance began to faintly rustle. A Pokemon of some sorts was in front of Lance. Lance used his senses that he had learnt and launched a kick towards the Pokemon. His rather large foot connected with the Pokemon that was in front of him. A small squeal was released and a little bird like Pokemon was sent through flying through the air. It landed in a faraway tree.

Then another Pokemon started to move around in front of them. But this time Lance didn't launch a kick at the rustling bushes in front of him. This time Lance waited to see what Pokemon appeared in front of him. Lance figured this could be a really good time to make Piplup toughen up. Lance waited for the revealed Pokemon to reveal itself. Suddenly a small brown beaver like Pokemon emerged from the grass and gnarled its teeth in front of Lance and Piplup. Lance pulled out his Pokedex and scanned the beaver Pokemon.

Bidoof
[PokeCommunity.com] The Sinnoh Quest

The plump mouse Pokemon; it evolves into Bibarel. It constantly gnaws on logs and rocks to whittle down its front teeth. It nests alongside water.

The Bidoof kept snarling its teeth and then it really let a snarl rip. Lance had obviously kicked one of its friends. Bidoof wasn't going to leave Lance and Piplup alone without a massive fight. Lance was still clasping Piplup's neck. He then let go and chucked Piplup onto the floor. He was making his currently weak Pokemon take on what looked like an annoyed strong Pokemon. This battle could end really badly.

"Come on Piplup let's take this little rat down!" Exclaimed Lance; he was obviously confident in Piplup's abilities. Or was it just his normal arrogance? "Piplup use Pound!" Commanded Lance to his little penguin Pokemon. She held out her fist and began to run towards the Bidoof. She was getting ever closer. In the end she was right next to the Bidoof; she pushed her fist forward in an attempt to the pound the plump mouse. But before Piplup could hit Bidoof; Bidoof used Tackle and smashed into Piplup hitting her into the floor.

"Piplup you little weakling if you don't win this I don't get my laptop. And I want my laptop. You'd hate to see me when I'm really angry! Now use Pound!" Lance angrily commanded to Piplup. He puffed out her chest and ran towards the wild Bidoof. Before Piplup could get close the Bidoof began to jump towards her yet again using Tackle.

"Now Piplup move to one side then when he is next to you; use Pound and smash him in the side!" Cooley and calmly this command came from Lance and emitted into the air. The sound waves made their way to Piplup's ears and soon she knew the command that was wanted by Lance. As the jumping Bidoof came towards her she swiftly moved to one side. As soon as Bidoof's belly was in line with her she pushed her fist forward and rammed it into Bidoof's side. The Bidoof was smashed into the floor.

"Great now Piplup use Growl!" Commanded Lance he had just emitted sound waves and now it was Piplup's turn. Piplup opened her mouth and let out an ear churning screech. Because Lance knew of what was coming next he covered his ears with his hands before Piplup's attack. Lance may have been covered from the loud growl but Bidoof was not. Once the attack hit Bidoof's ears the Bidoof began to roll along the floor his ear drum obviously irritated.

The Bidoof then got off of his feet and ran towards Piplup. Piplup was turned around looking at Lance showing off her muscles. She thought this battle was over but it was not. The Bidoof ran and used Tackle. It smashed into the oblivious Piplup. Piplup squealed as she was knocked to the ground. Bidoof immediately got back to his feet and stood over Piplup; wanting to finish this.

"Piplup quickly use Growl to put the Bidoof off!" Screamed Lance he didn't want to lose his first wild Pokemon battle as a trainer. This would certainly dent his chances of a new laptop if he lost. Piplup opened her mouth and screamed a long and horrible to the ears screech. The caused Bidoof to fall to the floor and roll around with hurt. Once again Piplup had damaged this poor Bidoof's ear drums.

"Now Piplup use Pound;" commanded Lance to his little penguin Pokemon. Piplup ran over to the bewildered Bidoof. She held out her little fist and smacked Bidoof round the face. The Bidoof was smashed across the floor. He rolled along the floor and away from Piplup he was only brought to a halt because of a tree trunk that he was smashed into.

"Great work pipsqueak. Now you little runt use Growl!" Lance was hurting Piplup's feelings but still the strategies are still working. Piplup then opened her mouth and let out the same screeching attack as before. But this time it didn't harm the Bidoof. Bidoof was too far away to be harmed by the screech. Piplup stood with a puffed up chest; she had thought the move had connected. But then the grass behind Piplup begun to rustle; the Bidoof then jumped out and used Tackle meaning that he smashed into Piplup. Knocking her to the floor and hurting Piplup quite badly. When Lance got to Sandgem Town he now had two things to do. Receive his Pokeballs and of course heal Piplup.

Piplup put her hands on the floor and used all her strength to push herself up. She got to her feet and bared her teeth. She was now developing Lance's vicious streak. She was really annoyed with the plump mouse Pokemon. And soon she was even more annoyed with Bidoof. Because Bidoof jumped out and used Tackle again; smashing into and knocking down Piplup.

"Piplup come on you little weakling. Your really annoying me now! Now use Pound!" An angry Lance commanded to Piplup. But Piplup was even angrier than Lance this Bidoof was annoying her so much. Maybe this rage would be a good thing but then again it could all end horribly. Piplup bared her teeth and ran towards the plump mouse. As she got closer she pulled back her hand; then when she was close enough she gave it an almighty swing and smashed it straight into Bidoof's face. The Bidoof was knocked to the floor and was now almost down and out.

"Piplup it really is time to finish this now. If you don't your in trouble; now use Pound!" Commanded Lance to Piplup; she then ran over to Bidoof and held out her fist. She swung it back and then smashed it into Bidoof and sent Bidoof flying against a nearby tree trunk. This attack and the collision with the tree knocked out the plump mouse and gave Lance and Piplup their first victory.

Lance then walked over to Piplup. Piplup held out her hand for a high-five but Lance paid no attention to this gesture and just grabbed Piplup by the neck and walked away with her clasped in his hand. He then began to walk towards the exit of this route and of course the beginning of Sandgem Town.

It wasn't long until Turtwig and Selena hit the first route, Route 201. It was a very grassy path and Selena could already see the peeks of Sandgem buildings. She smiled. Lovely sight, she told herself as she walked forward, Turtwig, her faithful partner followed by her feet. Kricketot, kricketot, the bug Pokemon said in the trees as they watched Selena walk by. Several Starly flew over head, chirping Starly, star as they flew west. Then there were the Bidoof – there was only one that Selena saw and she smiled. Maybe this would be useful practice for Turtwig.

Selena looked down at her Pokemon. "You ready for a quick battle, Turtwig?" Selena asked. Turtwig looked up to her and seemed to smile. It was kind of hard to tell from its weirdly shaped mouth. Selena took its happy nod and "Tur," as yes.

Selena smiled, her teeth gleaming. "Alright Turtwig," Selena said, looking at the lone Bidoof who hasn't even spotted them yet. "Use Tackle and take it down as quick as you can." Turtwig nodded and ran for the brown Pokemon, head down and charging like a Tauros. The Bidoof looked up finally and spotted Turtwig, only jumping out of the way before Turtwig hit it. Turtwig's eyes widened as it slid through the grass and Selena grit her teeth.

"It's okay Turtwig," Selena shouted. "Use another Tackle!" Turtwig charged again as the Bidoof spun out, only to be knocked back into a tree by Turtwig's Tackle attack.

"Bii!" it shouted as it flew back. A crunching sound as heard as the Bidoof hit the ground after being knocked into a tree. It shook painfully as it got back to its feet.

"Another Tackle," Selena commanded. Turtwig nodded quickly and ran at the Bidoof, knocking it back into the tree.

"Bi… doof," it said as its eyes closed.

Selena raised an eyebrow and her smile turned into a half-creased frown. She pulled up her left arm and scratched her head. "Hmm," she said as Turtwig walked up to her feet. "That thing wasn't so strong was it?" Looking down at her Turtwig, she noticed it just pulled up its shoulders and let it drop – a shrug. "A-alright, let's go."

It wasn't long until Selena and Turtwig made it to the border of Sandgem town. Selena smiled, the grin on her face stretching up to her ears. Turtwig said something happily at Selena's feet and overhead, a few Starly flew. But there was one of them – the biggest one that spotted Selena and Turtwig. It stopped in the air, flapping its wings as the others flew on. Its eyes were focused on Turtwig angrily and it chirped something that made Turtwig react badly.

"Tur, tur, Turtwig!" Turtwig shouted at Selena's feet. Selena looked down confused as Turtwig stepped forward. "Tur, tur, Turtwig! Tur, tur, Turtwig!" Selena looked up at the Starly who looked angrier than before. Turtwig must have been challenging it.

"Starly!" the Starly shouted, diving down at Turtwig and Selena.

"Duck!" Selena shouted at Turtwig, but it was quickly knocked backwards by Starly's talons. Turtwig rolled across the ground, finally stopping and laying on his stomach. The angry Starly had landed on the ground, ready for Turtwig to attack. "Tackle," Selena said.

Turtwig ran forward at the Starly, but it quickly flew up into the air. "No fair," Selena said to herself. Turtwig spun around, kicking up some dirt in the process. The Starly dove at Turtwig again but Selena's Pokemon was wise enough to roll to the side of the attack.

"Tackle," Selena commanded. Turtwig drove itself into the Starly now that it was on the ground and quickly made it fumble backwards. "Again," Selena said. Turtwig knocked into the large Starly which made it roll back again. It quickly got back to its feet and Selena winced. That's a strong Pokemon, Selena thought. It could be useful on my team. Selena quickly checked her pocket to see if she had a few Pokeballs; she had more than a few.

Smiling, she looked back at the battle. Starly was hovering in the air, wings flapping angrily but it was tired. Selena noticed a tree behind it, "Tackle," she shouted. Turtwig ran up at the Starly but it flew up over Turtwig. "Jump off the tree and knock it down," Selena grinned as Turtwig jumped at the tree and kicked off, only to knock into the Starly.

"Star," the Starly shouted surprised as it hit the ground, Turtwig on top of it.

"Nice," Selena said, taking out an empty Pokeball and enlarging it. She quickly tossed it at the Starly and watched it as if was engulfed into the ball through a transparent, red light. It hit the ground and started to shake as the white button in the middle flashed red…

Chapter Two: Route 201

Rin strolled quietly in the grass, listening at the soft rustling of the trees. Patches of flowers grew here and there, brightening the route's aspect with bundles of different colours. The wind blew gently across the grass, sending a wave of darker green rippling over it. It was pleasantly silent; a calm, peaceful atmosphere flitted around, with the occasional sound of a Starley chirping or a Bidoof quickly darting into a bush.

"Shinx?" Lei asked curiously, pawing at a particular purple flower. A lilac. Rin watched silently as the small cub sniffed the flower, then poked it cautiously.

"That's a lilac," Rin told him. "It's an ugly flower, but it smells nice." She bent over and picked it. She showed it to him. "See? Smell."

Rin breathed in the fresh but soothing scent of the lilac. It was one of the only perfum she could stand; it refreshed her energy and always helped her concentrate on her studies.
The scent did not have the same effect on Lei, though. As though tired, the Shinx yawned, curling up in a furry ball. He scratched his head sleepily.

"That's not good," Rin commented. "You probably shouldn't sleep. There are wild Pokemon in this route."

Lei's ears perked up. He lifted his head high in the air, and sniffed twice. Then, uncurling, he got swiftly to his paws.

"What's wrong?" Rin murmured.

A loud snap answered her question. Turning around, Rin gazed in the direction the sound had come from. It came from, it seemed, the woods of the oak trees growing by the side of the route. She peered inside and made out a dark shape huddled in the shadows.
As quiet as she tried to be(she didn't try very hard), her Pokedex responded to the creature's presence automatically.

Kricketot #401 : Cricket Pokemon
Type: BUG
Ability: Shed Skin
It chats with others using the sound of its antennae. When it shakes its head back and forth, it causes them to hit each other, producing a sound like that of a xylophone.

A soft, but rippling snarl was heard. Rin looked at Lei in surprise; the small Shinx was growling, his body tensed in a pouncing position, his fur standing on an end. He lashed his tail dangerously, still staring at the figure hidden behind the trees, his golden eyes suddenly fierce.

Of course. He is a lion, after all: he's a hunter by nature, Rin thought. Fighting is in his blood.

Then, without any warning, Lei leaped. He landed on the Kricketot, who screeched in surprise as the mass of fur pounced on it, pushing the cricket Pokemon out of hiding. They tumbled around, Lei, of course, ending up on top, pinning the insect down. He snarled menacingly in his face.

"Stop, Lei," Rin said nonchalantly. "He's not your lunch...I doubt you would eat a bug anyway."

The snarling eventually stopped to a faint rumble. Lei slowly climbed off the Kricketot, then proceeded to licking his paws.

"Lei, I want you to battle seriously," Rin told it quietly. "Not eat your enemy or wash your fur."

Rin was not used to this. She had her own body, and she could control that, without necessarily thinking or saying anything out loud. But she could not control other people's thoughts or reactions. She understood that very well. She had to, however, order her Pokemon and make sure they would follow her commands exactly as she wanted them to. But she had to speak! She could not let her Pokemon know her thoughts without talking to them. That was the problem.

"Lei, use Tackle," Rin ordered, slightly frowning.

Lei charged in. It rammed itself into the still dazed Kricketot, slamming him into the trees. Rin listened in interest as the cricket slid across the thick canopy of leaves on the ground, bouncing up and down, cracking a few branches along the way.

After a short while, the bug Pokemon came waddling back, looking furious. He halted in the middle of the trail, and puffed up his chest. Soon, he had swelled to five times his original size, and was looking about ready to explode.

"That's Bide," Rin realized, boredom colouring her tone. "Don't attack, Lei."

Lei stayed where he was, sitting on the grass. He began casually glancing on his paws, as though waiting for the time to pass.
And it did.
The Kricketot popped. Well, it seemed like it anyway. He actually only let out all of his energy, which sent him flying into a tree. Lei watched in amusement.

"Now you can," Rin said, blinking. "Tackle."

Lei didn't need telling twice. He jumped, then tackled the Kricketot with full force. The attack knocked it out at once.

"Good boy," Rin said softly. Lei came running towards her, brushing his face in her fingers. "Let's go now."

Lei purred.

Royal - That was an alright post. But! Somethin I didn't mention before, you can't do two things in one post. In this case you battled a Bidoof and tried to catch a Starly. I'm going to let you off this once, because you didn't know, but I don't to see it happen again.
Turtwig grew to Level 6!
You caught a Level 2 Male Starly!

Neiko Star - That was a good post! Very amusing battle between Lei and the wild Kricketot. xD
Lei grew to Level 7!

Chapter Three: Sandgem Town

Lei sniffed the air curiously. Rin could tell why. They were approaching Sandgem Town, so it was no wonder the Shinx had picked up new scents.

"We're here," Rin said quietly.

They stopped. The grass beneath their feet(and paws) shifted to a hard, sandy earth. Buildings were scattered here and there, the most noticeable one being the Pokemon Center, obvious with its bright red roof.

"We'll stop there first," Rin told her Pokemon. "You didn't get very hurt, but it's better to check." Lei nodded.

The automatic glass doors slid open to welcome them. Rin stepped inside, blinking at the sudden sweetness in the air. It was a gingery kind of candy scent, so strong even a human could be bothered by it.

"Shhhhiiiinx," Lei complained, wrinkling his nose.

"I know," Rin said, sighing. "But be quiet for now." Lei instantly became silent, though he still pawed at his nose.

The lady behind the desk smiled at them. "A new trainer?" she asked, her voice a high, bubbly octave. Rin winced slightly.

"Yes. I would like to heal my Pokemon, please," she said politely. She sounded bored anyway.

"Of course," the nurse replied sweetly. "Is it that Shinx?"

Rin nodded. Lei leaped onto the desk in one swift, graceful movement. The nurse whistled.

"That's an impressive speed you've got there," she said, sounding impressed. "I'll have you healed up in no time."

Meanwhile, Rin decided to look around. She mostly saw other trainers, some with their Pokemon released. She watched a particular Ekans with interest. She, however, got too close, causing her Pokedex to go off.

Ekans #23 : Snake Pokemon
Type: POISON
Ability: Intimidate
It sneaks through grass without making a sound, then strikes unsuspecting prey from behind.

The Ekans' trainer, a young boy, glanced at her curiously. "Who are you? Are you a trainer?"

Rin nodded and quickly slid back to the front desk. She did not want to attract any attention. The boy shrugged, then returned to talking to his friends.

"Here you go, dear," the nurse said suddenly. She placed Lei on the desk. "He's fine, nothing to worry about. Good-bye, then." She winked.

Rin nodded again. Lei jumped down, landing softly on all fours, and rubbed his head against her leg. She saw the boy look at her with raised eyebrows.

Once outside, she glanced around. There was a large, stone building next to the Pokemon Center. Walking over to it, she saw the sign 'PROFESSOR ROWAN LABORATORY'. She knocked twice. A few seconds later, an assistant opened the door, then peered at her.

"You a new trainer?" she asked dryly. She had short, cropped golden hair, a pair of square glasses and was wearing a white labcoat. Not too friendly.

"I'm here to pick up the Pokeballs Professor Rowan forgot to bring," Rin explained.

She frowned. "I'll be right back." She left, leaving the door ajar. A short while later, she came back, holding a small package in her hands. She thrust it into Rin's hands. "There. Now be a good girl and scram." She closed the door with a bang.

Rin felt slightly irritated. Professor Rowan should get some new assistants! Even though she said nothing, she could tell Lei could feel her annoyance too. He growled. Rin shook her head, then unwrapped the parcel. Inside were five polished Pokeballs.

She sighed, lifting her eyes to the sky. Now what?

Jade looked around in curiosity as she entered Sandgem Town. It was rather small for a supposed starting city where many young and aspiring trainers begin. Jade was truly unipressed, but Chimchar, who recognized the town as where he used to live, gave a few cheerful chirps.

"As you used to live here, where is the old man's lab?" Jade questioned to the fire chimp at her feet.

"Char chim," Chimchar said happily, pointing towards a plain white building. Jade eyed the building a bit warily. It didn't seem much different than the other buildings of this town, but then again, there were probably only about six other houses, so if Chimchar said this was the lab, then it was definitely the lab. "Chi chi," Chimchar urged, taking hold of Jade's hand and leading her forward. Unable to resist a laugh, Jade followed the fire chimp with a few amused giggles.

When she knocked on the door, a rather frazzle looking man in a white lab coat and large, square glasses. He took one look at Chimchar and sighed. "Not another one," he moaned.

"Excuse me?" Jade growled, narrowing her eyes at the man.

"Its nothing against you, miss," the lab assistant assured her. "Its just that man, Professor Rowan. He always forgets something, and of course today of all days he forgot to give out pokeballs to the beginning trainers. You are not the first to come for pokeballs, and I can assure you that you will not be the last." He finished with a crooked grin that expressed his exasperation before handing her five minimized pokeballs.

"Thanks," Jade said a bit dryly, eyes glancing down at Chimchar.

Chimchar seemed just as amused as her because he was giving the man a bemused grin. "Chi," he giggled as the two walked away from the building.

"Well, can't say that was a complete waste of time, but I'm bored of this town," Jade said to her pokemon. "Come on, I want to go battle some more."

"Chimchar!" Chimchar said eagerly, skipping at her side towards the next route.
