It's pretty simple. One person starts a story, another continues it, etc.

Example:
Poster A: Once upon a time...
Poster B: Some cats named Joe, Jim and Steve decided to become pirates, then...
Poster C: They tried to become pirates, but they couldn't, so...

By the way, if a story ends, anybody can start a new one.
