Hi there, this is a new deck I'm thinking of buying and building for a casual competition/league I have running with my friends, the only rules that we have are a limit of 3 legendary Pokemon per deck and the more prize cards your opponent has left if you beat them, the more points you'll get (hence my inclusion of Dialgia & Palkia legend)

Note: I haven't linked to NFE Pokemon as hopefully they'll be spending as little time in that stage as possible.

    Pokemon Cards (17)
    Dialiga & Palkia legend x1 (2 Cards)
    Cobalion
    x2
    Totodile x4
    Croconaw x2
    Feraligatr (Prime)
    x3
    Wailmer x2
    Wailord
    x2

    Trainer Cards (18)
Life Herb x2 (Flip a coin, if heads heal 60 HP and all status conditions)
Cilan x2 (Search deck for 3 basic energy)

Roseanne's Research x2 (Search deck for 2 basic Pokemon or basic energy)

Energy retrieval x4 (Search discard pile for 2 basic energy)

Celio's network x4 (Search deck for a Pokemon)

Palmer's Contribution x1 (Search discard pile for 5 Pokemon and basic energy cards, shuffle them into the deck)

Rare Candy x1 (Instantly evolves basic to stage 2)

Glacia's stadium x2 (All water Pokemon have no weakness)

    Energy Cards (23)
    15 Water Energy
    8 Steel Energy

How do you approach the match with this deck? Try to get Dialga & Palkia LEGEND out as quickly as possible?

    Thanks for responding :)

That would depend on what my starting hand was, but Dialgia & Palkia LEGEND is kind of the cornerstone of this deck, so I'd say yes. Sudden Delete to slow down my opponent setting up at the start and to remove a fully set up threat late in the game, Time Control to give myself a bit of room to sacrifice Pokemon to buy time to set up on the bench or safe myself from defeat near the end of the game.

Feraligatr prime would probably stay on the bench if possible, mostly to use his Poke-body to speed up the energy replacement for Time Control and allow him and Wailord to attack quicker.

Thanks for the suggestion, after looking up the card (and therefore taking a proper look at the rules on legends), I've decided to rework my trainers a bit, mostly by substituting Roseanne for Celio as I thought Legend cards counter as basics.

I'm not a big fan of the kind of cards that makes you look at the top X cards on your deck as it leaves quite a lot to chance (more than I'm comfortable with), so I'll be sticking with Celio as that card allows me to make a rough estimate as to what my prize cards are and change my mind on what card I'm after if I what I want is a prize card.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion :)

I suppose it's not the best card when you only have 1 of each piece of the card.

Wait, don't you already have 4 Celio in your deck? You can't have more than 4 of a card in a deck, the exceptions being Basic Energy cards, and cards like Arceus (which, on each Arceus, states that you can have as many Arceus in your deck as you would like).

I had two Celio before and have now moved it up to 4 by removing a Roxanne and one or two other cards, I've changed the original post to make it easier for someone else to review my deck.

Thanks again for suggesting Legend Box though, I'll definately keep that card in mind as I'm thinking of one day making a deck view a few LEGEND cards, so it'll come in handy there.
