Many people in the pokemon community may know about this challenge.
It is known as the Nuzlocke challenge and it is based on a comic started by a 4chan user.
This is the hardmode version. I dare you to try it in every generation. By far the hardest game to play this challenge in is Shiny Gold X.
Here are the rules, if you break them you lose:
1. The first time you visit a route if you want to catch a pokemon it can only be the first one you find. You cannot comeback later to try for a different pokemon.
2. Once a pokemon faints it must be released.
3. SET battle style only.
4. If all of your pokemon die, it's game over.
5. Poison reducing them to 1 HP is death.
6. Pokemon centers are the only healing allowed.
7. Once you have 6 pokemon you cannot catch anymore.
8. The box should only be used to release a pokemon. It should not have anything in it at all.
9. Gift pokemon are not allowed.
10. Trading pokemon from other versions or in game is not allowed.
11. If you reach a new region you start over with the first wild pokemon you find.
12. You are allowed to pick up TMs.
13. You are not allowed to buy pokemon or items EXCEPT for pokeballs and TMs.
14. Save stating is not allowed
15. Mandatory saves and heals are allowed.
16. Playing at places like the Battle Tower are not allowed.
17. Held Items are not allowed.
18. Deleting moves through the use of the Move Deleter is not allowed.
19. Starting this challenge beyond getting the pokedex is not allowed.
These rules are made by myself and are intended to push you to your strategic and mental limits. If you pass this challenge in a game, post your results below, either by text or video form. They have been tested in most versions and work.
