Ok, I would like to hear people's thoughts on Arceus. What Original movesets do you have for it? How would you run a Splash Plate Arceus? Provide your set with comments on how it works and what it counters, as well as pokemon that trouble it.

    Sweepers

    ====================================================================================================

    Arceus@Dread Plate
    Naive
    180 Spd, 220 Sp. Atk, 108 Atk

    Overheat
    Judgement (Physical)
    Grass Knot
    Ice Beam

Comments: Dread Plate Arceus is a lead. It counters Non-Scarfed Kyogre, Groudon and Tyranitar leads with Grass Knot. Judgement provides a strong STAB and works very well against Mewtwo and other Psychic types. Overheat is a nice little asset, it hits Skarm, Metagross and Forry for 1HKO. Ice Beam hits those plethora of Dragons and Flying types in Ubers, and stops the Lati-Twins, to a small extent. Provides a good resistence to the many Psychic types in Ubers with it's typing.

    Arceus@Splash Plate
    Mild / Rash
    252 Sp. Atk, 180 Spd, 76 Atk

    Waterfall
    Extremespeed / X-Scissor
    Thunder
Dark Pulse / Draco Meteor / Ice Beam

Comments: This is to be combined with Kyogre. In the rain, it gets a very nice STAB boost. The second slot provides either a revenge kill with Extremespeed, or coverage against Blissey etc. Thunder in the rain for obvious reasons, and can counter opposing Kyogre, while the last slot is up in the air. Dark Pulse says high to Psychic types and Giratina, Draco Meteor hits Dragons very hard and can be used for a stronger hit to Lati@s, while Ice Beam is a more reliable option that hits Dragons and those 4x weak, like Rayquaza.

    Arceus @ Leftovers
    Adamant
    216 HP, 252 Atk, 40 Sp. Def

    Swords Dance
    Extremespeed
    Shadow Claw
    Recover

Comments: A twist on Extremekiller. Will outstall most sweeper Dialga, and almost always (never say never in Pokemon) beats any Giratina lacking Roar or a combo of CM/WoW. Survives a lot of things like CM Dragon Pulse from Soul Dew Latios. I prefer it to the standard because even though it is walled by Forry and phazed by Skarm, Recover is an amazing way to keep on sweeping. Run it with SR support or Mewtwo will survive the ES.

    ====================================================================================================

    Wall

    Arceus@Iron Plate / Leftovers
    Impish / Bold
    156 HP, 248 Def, 106 Sp. Def

    Toxic
    Recover
    Cosmic Power
Dragon Claw / Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor / Extremespeed

Comments: Toxic Staller. Dragon Claw hits the many Dragons, and hits everything, no matter how minimal, while extremespeed is for those quick kills, but expect to have troubles with Giratina. Dragon Pulse and Draco Meteor are for stronger hits, and can hit most harder than Dragon Claw. I would suggest Draco Meteor, because you won't really be sweeping with this. Steel Type provides the most resistences of all the types, and hence is used in this set, but you can use Leftovers if you like.

I like the Splash Plate set. I PMed you about it.

Although, I think that Darkrai should go in the "Pokémon it counters". Remember, Darkrai is Dark-type, so Brick Break and X-Scissor should do a pretty good number on it. Also, the proper attack name is Judgment :P I'm thinking:

Judgement (Water) - Strong STAB, extra power under rain
X-Scissor - Counters various Psychics and Darkrai
Thunder - 100% accurate with Rain
Ice Beam - Hits Dragons hard and more

Main threats against this set are Blissey and Dialga. But if Brick Break went in over X-Scissor, you'd have a way of countering Dialga, Blissey and Darkrai, but at the risk of losing out against Psychics, many of whom will certainly carry Thunder(bolt).

As for my own set, here's a stall one:

    Arceus @ Steel Plate
    Calm Nature
    EVs: 252 HP/114 Sp. Def/144 Def

    - Cosmic Power
    - Recover
    - Seismic Toss
    - Substitute

Not sure about the last two slots; they're gonan need polishing. But you get the basic principle. Steel-type gives it some nice resistances.

Almost all Rayquaza are the DDer brand ya know.

Also, with splash plate and the STAB on the water Arceus with rain support, wouldn't Waterfall do MORE to Blissey that Brick Break?

    Yup.

    Waterfall: 80 [Base] x 1.5 [STAB] x 1.5 [Rain Boost] = 180
    Brick Break: 75 [Base] x 2 [Matchup Weakness] = 150

Brick Break really has no need :/

Arceus doesn't always necessarily have to hold a Plate, y'know. And what about Judgement, T_S?

It's a good point but, like I said, with BB you also counter Dialga, who would otherwise wall this, and mixed/choice Dialga usually carry Thunder.

Arceus doesn't always necessarily have to hold a Plate, y'know. And what about Judgement, T_S?

I guess we'll have to think up some sets for Normal Arceus, rather than stick with the Standard Extremekiller set. And I think he meant Judgment, but he typod with Punishment.

Killing one pokemon doesn't warrant its use IMO. Besides, it's not like you'll be OHKOing Diagla and thunder is going to hurt. A lot.

I guess you're right. Not really much point arguing with Anti-Pop :D

So I guess it comes down to whether we use Judgment (Water) or Waterfall.

    Is Judgment special or physical?

I like Waterfall because it's cooler and flinching stuff is fun. If I knew more about judgment I could help more lol

Yeah, Judgment is a Special Attack, 100 Base, 100 Accuracy, 10 PP. Takes the type of whatever Plate Arceus is holding.

Then you'd pretty much lose all hope against Blissey, so go go go Waterfall!

    Arceus: @ Choice specs
    Modest
    Evs:252 spatt, 252 spd, 6 hp
    Judgement
    Dragonpulse
    Flamethrower
    Earth power

Special sweeper. Best one I could think of with normal.

    Arceus: @ Dread plate
    Bold
    Evs: 252 hp, 120 def, 138 spdef
    Recover
    Seismic toss
    Cosmic power
    Refresh

    Mixed wall.

Refresh? XD Why do you need Refresh? Thats what Blissey is for. And even without Blissey, Arceus absorbs status pretty well.

Deoxys-D would run that wall set way better. Then again it still wouldn't last long. Go go go Calm Mind Mewtwo/Lati@s!

Arceus should have a Choice Band because CB is a cool item :(

EDIT: Refresh is so the massive amount of Toxic pokemon don't PHaze you where you need cleric support to heal your wall. I doubt you'll want to switch out with a few defense boosts.

    Aruseus @ Leftovers
    216 HP/252 Attk/40 SDef -- Adamant
    Swords Dance
    Extremespeed
    Shadow Claw
    Recover

How about this for a mixed wall/stall set:

    Arceus @ Leftovers
    Ability: Multitype
    EVs: 92 HP/166 Def/252 SDef
    Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
    - Cosmic Power
    - Recover
    - Seismic Toss
    - Substitute

HP EVs given allow 101 HP subs, so you can get at least 1 Cosmic Power in, then Recover off the damage. Set is walled by Giratina, although you can probably outstall it, but Pressure comes into play.

    Arceus @ Choice Band
    Ability: Multitype
    EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
    Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Extremespeed
    - Earthquake
    - Dragon Claw
    - X-Scizzor

    For Anti :D

    Ummm...

    Arceus: @ choice scarf
    252 spd, 252 att, 6 hp.
    Lonley/Adamant
    Dragon claw
    Brick break
    Extremespeed/Return
    Shadow claw

    Arceus: @ choice scarf
    252 spd, 6 hp, 252 spatt.
    Modest/Rash
    Dragon pulse
    Judgement
    Dark pulse
    Earth power

Choice scarf sets. Depends on what you want.

Why would you scarf something with pretty strong speed and great defenses?

If you put any plate on Arceus and give it Extremespeed, I'm going to bash you :[

Out speeds mewtwo, deoxes (Not speed), darkrai and other arceus that don't run extremespeed. So you then get to kill them too.

WOW! Purugly has more speed than gengar! And Poliwag has a base speed of 90. That's new!

    =P

On Shedinjask's set, I'd put Earthquake over Recover
