This is my first serious FanFic. It's about a boy named Skippy who is moving from Kanto to Johto and in Johto he will meet an unlikely Pokemon friend whom he will have many adventures with. Please read this and tell me what you think.
    Prologue
The sun, a huge fireball, was slowly sinking behind the horizon, casting shadows over the Saffron Plains, which were located just south of Saffron City. The grass appeared golden because of the sun but maybe the grass was already golden. The area was mostly grass and wheat but some trees loomed over the lands. Under the largest tree sat a young boy, no older than 8 or 9. His name was unknown. Folks called him Skippy but no one knew his real name. His family was going to move to Goldenrod City in three days and Skippy didn't want to leave home. He had lived in Saffron City for all 8 years of his life. He knew his parents were worried sick about him because they didn't know where he was but he didn't care. All that mattered was staying in Saffron City. About five meters behind the boy, sat a man in black boots, black pants, a black shirt with a large red "R" on the front and a black cap. He was planning to kidnap this young boy and then force his parents to pay up for his return. The Rocket member crept quietly toward young Skippy. When he was about a foot away, he leaped forward and grabbed Skippy by the back of his shirt. He then picked Skippy up and tucked him under his arm. The boy was very light and easy to carry. Skippy woke up and cried out in surprise. The Rocket member quickly pulled out some masking tape and ripped off a piece and taped it over Skippy's mouth and started running. What the Rocket member didn't know was that Skippy's mother and Officer Jenny were searching for Skippy in the Saffron Plains. They heard Skippy cry out and his mother knew it must be Skippy. Skippy's mother and Officer Jenny started running toward the sound. They saw the Rocket member running away and Officer Jenny quickly threw a Pokeball, which contained a Growlithe.
"Growlithe, stop that Rocket and bring back Skippy!" shouted Officer Jenny. Growlithe started running through the grasslands, after the Rocket member and Officer Jenny and Skippy's mother started running too. After three minutes, Growlithe saw the Rocket member in sight and used a Flamethrower attack. Fire shot from its mouth and hit the Rocket member right in the back. He dropped Skippy and started rolling around to try and get rid of the fire on his back. Skippy got up and started running away from the Rocket member as fast as he could. He wasn't looking where he was going and crashed into something bigger than he was. He fell to the ground and then heard a voice he knew.
"Skippy" said his mother's voice. Skippy groaned and slowly opened his eyes. His mother was standing over him, tears brimming in her eyes. Skippy slowly got up and hugged his mother. As they hugged, tears started flowing down her cheeks.
"I was so worried about you" said his mother, "don't ever do that again." Now Skippy started to cry.
"I'm so s-sorry m-mother but you see I d-didn't w-want to e-ever leave S-S-Saff-Saffron C-City" Skippy managed to say through his tears. Five minutes later Growlithe and Officer Jenny appeared with the now unconcious Rocket member.
"Come on Skippy let's go home" said Officer Jenny. The trio and Growlithe and the Rocket member headed back toward Saffron City as the sun sank lower and lower.
