5th Gen The Unova Pokemon evolve so late.....

I wasn't trying to be harsh, I was merely pointing out the obvious. They revamped the Exp System, and it has had many mixed reviews. They most likely hoped that the scaling Exp would help alleviate the grind, but without realizing it, made it worse.

Sorry if I seemed harsh, but I was just stating what I thought.

They probably did that because of not having any Chansies or Blissies or probably because of what you said.

I honestly kind of like it. It's almost more realistic, as ironic that may sound when talking about fictional creatures. But by comparing the anime and whatnot, Pokemon obviously don't evolve on their designated evolution levels. I mean, how many episodes have you seen with an older man having a Stage 1 Pokemon and claim the Poochyena is as old as his is, yet they've been every where and have beaten all of the Gym Leaders? In games that Poochyena would have evolved on level 18, where as the character's hasn't even bothered to pretend to evolve. I just like the realism of it. Besides, like Toujours said, if mine evolve too early, I have nothing but new moves to look forward to.

I don't really care about the evolving stuff. It doesn't really bother me. Besides, if you really want a Galvantula or Bisharp on your team before the first time E4, then go take the guide's advice and grind on Victory Road and fight the people in Nimbasa. And if you need them after the first time E4, give them an Exp. Share and go to a post-game route and find an Audino or fight in Nimbasa. It's not really that much of a bother after you beat the game the first time. Yes, it's kind of annoying before you beat the first time E4 and a small time after that when all the trainers have Pokemon in the 60's, but that's about it.

The reason why they evolve so late is because they seem to be stronger than past Pokemon. If they evolved early like past Pokemon the game would be way too easy

That's what I said in my first post, some seem to evolve late because that they seem to be a bit stronger.

As annoying as it may be to train a Pokemon up to a really high level just to get it to evolve, I find that the Pokemon they used this on are just fine.

Mienshao is a powerful whip-weasel that can Hi Jump Kick your opponents into oblivion. That it evolves at level 50 isn't so bad since Mienfoo also has some in-game usage. Larvesta may not evolve until Level 59, but you can catch a Volcarona. Then there's Deino's line...

Man, Hydreigon is my absolute favorite Pokemon! Dark/Dragon is a combination I've been waiting for since day one! I was ecstatic when I caught my Deino and immediately began training. Getting it to Levels 50 and 64 to fully evolve it is so worth it in the end!

No problems here.

From what I've seen, pokemons of the 5th Gen tend to evolve between 10-20 levels after the first time you can see them. So, that makes you have to stay with the previous evolutions for a little while. Previous generations didn't really follow this pattern, so you could have a pokemon evolve very soon after you capture it, or very long instead.

That could also explain why Hydreigon has such a high level for evolution. You can the first evolution somewhere around level 40, you keep him 10 levels to see him evolve, then you keep him 14 other levels to get the last evolution. If it followed previous Pseudo-Legendaries, you'd catch him and see him evolve immediatly, so you had no time to admire your Deino.

It was an interesting change, however, I didn't like it since I'm used to Pokemon evolving at the lower levels. I'm not much of a fan when it comes to level grinding, though Hydreigon at Level 64 was definitely worth all the effort put into its training. At least I had more of a rewarding feeling after all my Pokemon evolved. :P

I rathered enjoyed the higher level evolution. The feeling of achivement was that much more rewarding because of that and you where always left with something too look forward to. At least in my opinion anyways.

Well you are right, since that I worked really hard evolving my Zweilous, which is now a ramming and tough LV 100 Hydreigon in 5 days.

Even with the higher levels, I've found training to be much easier in this generation. With the wide distribution of the Lucky Egg, what would've taken me weeks to do, such as training a Pokemon to level 100, takes a mere 2 days. 2 days.

Yeah, but what really ticked me off is how they removed the VS. Seeker, but it is easier though.
