Who wins the wallace cup May or Dawn I really want Dawn to win she hasn't really won much and i think she is due for a victory i think while she is fightting her piplup will evolve and kick May's A**

Harley or Jessie, though neither is likely.

May, because, well, Dawn is a noob who's only won one contest and even failed to get past the APPEAL ROUND once. Her beating May, who now has the best team out of any main character, while she has nothing more than some baby pokemon with the execption of Ambipom..... That would be more ridiculous than that time Pikachu and Swellow got that "Lightning Armor" and OHKOed Solrock and Lunatone. Especially considering the battle is Glaceon, an Eevee evolution, all which are strong in their own right, and Piplup, a little baby penguin. If Dawn does end up winning, then Pokemon will become the most poorly written shonen anime ever.

I think you should read the post aboce. She does win. It made no sense, but she won. Only by a little though, so I can accept it

are you kidding me? I guess this epsiode was secretly called "Beginner's Luck." The writers only gave Dawn the ribbon becuz she had gone so long without one. This makes absolutely no sense. I guess logic can't always win. Whatever.

Well remember that this is a contest and the pokemon that is stronger doesn't always win. Also that this is also the anime so the things from the game doesn't always or really apply.

Still really, I guessing that after lose two contests in a row, Dawn must have learn a lot about showing her pokemon off and basically apply that in this battle to do a better job then May just a tiny bit. Kinda predictable but surprising none the less. teeheehee

Huh, Harley isn't in Shinnou? Are you sure? I thought he was showing up later.

I don't think the game arguement works, because the contest system in the game is COMPLETELY different from that of the anime.

I think the writers just had to finally give her a second ribbon, because her appeals are just boring and flashy still.

Wait that looked like a tie! Dawn cheated may of a ribbon. The nerve!

It's not a tie. Take a good look

It's a close call. If you draw a horizontal line, you'll see that Hikari has a few pixels more.

As for the battle between Haruka and Hikari, both gave there best shot. There were no physics defying moves being pulled. So Hikari won that ribbon fair and square in my book. She just learned from her past mistakes to get past the first round.

Edit: I've modified the title of this thread with a more fitting extention

Sorry, but Dawn won. the win still felt pretty cheap though. This only makes me hate hikari even more.

Oh me too! She reminds me of a mary-sue for some reason. Can you say perfect? Yeah, even though she "hasn't been winning". What were the odds of her winning against May? Like zero, i really dislike her now.

I have finally seen the pics of this week's episode and I so have to agree with Unown. It was a very close battle and both did do some great looking moves but it seems like Dawn did just a tiny tiny tiny better.

I really don't see it as a cheap win since it was VERY VERY close. I mean there was just a small fraction between both of them. I was surprise to see that Dawn was going to use Piplup instead of Ambipom but really from the pics, it looked really close. Still I guess it proves that Piplup has gotten stronger since the beginning of Diamond and Pearl and now that I think about it, Glaceon can have the same ammount of experience as Piplup since remember May has to work with five other pokemon too so she can't focus just on one pokemon and then seeing as that May did evolve her pokemon a lot so that must have taken a lot of time.

Can't wait to see this episode dubbed.

It's not a matter of experience OR luck between May and Dawn, it's a matter of...
CRAPPY WRITERS WHO DEPEND ON BIASED STORY-LINES AND CLICHES!

We should all know the only reason Dawn won was because she was the main female protagonist at the time, so the writers would want her to win and advance in the story no matter what (even if it means a victory by ONE POINT). You have to admit that is cliche. (think of all those 'epic' superhero battles, it's not all that different)

If the world of Pokemon was allowed to run by itself, May would have won, or at least no-one would have won by ONE MEASLY POINT.

I wanted May to win that battle, so seeing her getting beaten by a far less experienced contestant that won by one point because of a cheap, biased decision, that really pissed me off.
