    Chapter 1: New Begginings
My new pokemon general teacher came in to announce himself, later that day we was doing a catching exersise so he felt we should be able to trust him. When he came in though he seem to be fixed on me the whole time, it was kinda wierd.
"Hello there! My name is Ashley but everyone calls me Proffesor Redwood. I wanna know all your names, i'm not great at remebering but i'll try."

It was true, he wasn't great at remembering but he always remembered mine. A parade of familiar names headed my way, then it was my turn.
"Matt." I said, unusually quiet. I just sat there for a while after doodleing Lugias over some spare paper. After Proffesor Redwood was prepared the entire class headed to the breeding area behind the school.

"OK i've asked Ms. Sycamore to release 24 pokemon, one for each of you. This will display your skills as you will have no pokemon to weaken the wild ones. There are pokeballs in the box behind me. Off you go!" Redwood was looking at everyone this time which was relieving, he has a piercing glare even though friendly; similarly, he was tall but not at all intimidating, there was a calm about him.

After about 7 minutes the first pokemon was caught. It was a Gastly caught by Jesse. Then Rochelle caught an Eevee in the tall grass. No one could see her but her arrogant voice boomed out of it. I was the next one to catch a pokemon - I got a Turtwig, a pokemon i was really hoping for. Quite a big moment really, at least it should be I was overshadowed by Toni catching Ravervine, a rare and powerful pokemon that is usually found in the north-east mountains. I am channeling that 4th grade Pokemon report.

Some 1/2 of training later, everyone had caught their pokemon and Redwood was stunned. "Whoa, that was quick! even Natu! Well done... erm... Abbie?"
"Thanks." Abbie replied, exstatic. "I would like to see You and You after school, the rest of you need to get back to the lab with Mr. Lahar, oh and you can keep the pokemon!" Redwood wanted to see myself and Rochelle. We returned once Mr. Lahars evolution lesson ended.

"Thanks for coming." Redwood said excited. "I've asked you here because you both have the potential to be great pokemon trainers, maybe you could even become champion of the Tezen League. I want you both to take one of these." Redwood handed us both a red thing, looked a bit like a small book. "It's a pokedex, it stores and presents data of all the carriers encountered pokemon, if you catch a pokemon it can store even more. I've seen plenty of pokemon but haven't caught as much. On your travels i'd like it if you tried to fill this up and download the info to my computer."
"Sure!" Me and Rochelle exclaimed in unison.
"Thanks kids, oh, Good Luck!" Redwood dismissed us.

    "Wow!" I shouted.
"I know, we could compete against the elite four!" Rochelle smiled.
"Maybe even against eachother as champions!"
"Not likely, but it would be fun to compete together for the title."
"Yeah, lets have a battle tomorow morning before we leave Grasswhistle for Tropia City!"
"Agreed, see you tommorow then Matt."
    "Yeah, bye Rochelle"

Not bad for a prologue, but I do see a few things. First, being first person, I think you shouldve added a little more description, especially when Matt caught Turtwig. That, to me, would be a big thing for your main character. There are some grammer mistakes but I can review for you. Overall, it should be a good story, since this is a whole new region that you have made up. Just add some more description and it should turn out great.

    Chapter 2: My new fear

That night I was training endlessly with my prized Turtwig. Teaching it move after move after move. I was sure Rochelle was doing the same with her Eevee. Luckily, her dad owned Zertinan department store so all she had to do to evolve her Eevee was e-mail her dad and ask for an evolution stone or a massage kit. Knowing Rochelle she probably will. This may seem like a digression but leads me back into training. Turtwig has already learned a grass attack so if she's evolved Eevee into a Vaporeon she was basically screwed.

I awoke quite late the next morning and told my parent's I was going to have a quick battle with Rochelle before I left. Professor Redwood had asked them about the League while I was in Mr. Lahars' class. I did do some extra 1/2 hour training first though. Rochelle was waiting for me at the Route 501 field. 501 was never the biggest route in Tezen but big enough to have a great battle.

"You're late! Just for that I get to see what Pokémon you caught yesterday!" She chanted.
"You're pathetic Rochelle!" Then I drew out my Turtwig, observing Rochelles' expression - a wide grin.

"Let's get this battle on!" I announced. Rochelle drew out a Flareon. I subtlety grinned; Rochelle thought she had the upper hand over me. She didn't have a clue.
"Ember!" She yelled. Flareon drew a breath.
"Quickly Turtwig, Bite!" Turtwig rushed at Flareon and bit her hard. Rochelle seemed really annoyed. Ember never was deployed which I was sure annoyed her further. She managed to keep her cool though, unusual for Rochelle.
"Quick Attack, Flareon." Rochelle calmly asked. I will only say that it hit, Rochelles' confidence was boosted and was even further when she blanketed half of the Route and Turtwig with Embers.
"Sand Attack, Flareon." The battlefield was blanketed by sand or dust or something, whatever it was it seemed to come from nowhere. Luckily this put out Turtwigs' and 501's embers. Neither I nor Rochelle could see, but judging by their closeness, I was betting the Pokémon could. That's when I decided to unleash the wild card of my small deck.
"Thanks Rochelle! Now Turtwig, Magnitude!" I gladly announced. Turtwig bounced about creating a big shockwave.
"Jump as high as you can. Flareon you can dodge this!" Rochelle barked at Flareon desperately. Flareon leapt high but not enough for Turtwig to get her...
"Jump and Tackle Flareon to the ground!" I gleefully yelled. Flareon was thrown to the ground and hit by the high magnitude.

The 'sand' started to fade, revealing a fainted Flareon and an extremely worn out Turtwig. Rochelle didn't seem that upset and seemed to be about to congratulate me but then a loud crash came from behind us, it was some members of the notorious Team Shadow. Pokémon thieves basically. The two of us withdrew our Pokémon and ran towards Meteo Port. The shadows carried Pokeballs called Shadow Clamps. Instead of using Pokeball technology it just forms a clam around the Pokémon and shrinks itself and the Pokémon into a normal Pokeball size.

The run wasn't exactly direct, the shadows done everything to stop us from reaching the Port; they used a Tyranitar to knock down trees and stop us, didn't work though we were not as stiff as likely 30 year olds. I thought we were goners though. The Shadows were terrifying and seemed to be constantly gaining on us. Being so stiff though they weren't able to swim across the narrow part of the lake; doesn't seem as though they had water Pokémon either because they would have used it. Our escape across seems to prove the belief that Lake Meteor looks upon all. I remembered this place though, to come back once I caught a water Pokémon. The land there had far too many flowers to be polluted by the Tropia Waterworks, according to my Pokedex that was a one of Shaymins' abilities, to purify the land around it.

I was crestfallen at such an abrupt victory but glad both of us managed to withdraw our Pokémon and get to Meteo Port Pokémon centre before they got anywhere near our Pokémon. Out of breath but extremely relieved, we handed our Pokémon to Nurse Joy and she put them in the Healing room. I never worked out how that works to this day, and I'm now 23! 10 years and many Pokémon centre visits later I haven't worked it out which is really annoying...

Rochelle picked up her Pokémon from Nurse Joy - I didn't know why she seemed so sad, whether it was the fact I beat her in her first battle or that her precious Flareon was nearly stolen from her. But she did say one thing:
"I'm gonna go to Zertinan instead first and get some training tips from gym leader Jewel, Matt, I'll see you later."
Gym leader Jewel was a great trainer, but hopefully not too good to make Rochelle unbeatable, but being a dragon type trainer, she hopefully wont have much to tell. I decided the best thing to do was go straight to Tropia City and do my best to do some exploring in such a big city; as well as beat my first gym of course.

Next up is Route 503, its full of rivers and caves, I should really explore the but I wouldn't know where to start so I decided to just explore the flooding cave, supposedly a single one after going so deep I couldn't go further, there was a long swim which neither me or Turtwig was willing to make, the exit I came out of was the same one as when I came in, which really scared me, next time I would bring an escape rope. After leaving I made a line across the Route map to determine my route. I also circled Meteo Lake and the Flooded Caves to remind myself to return there. Then off I went through the winding Tropia Forest.

It was a pretty decent first chapter. A few things did bother me though. The first thing was Rochelle evolving Eevee the first day she got it. Unless you are trying to show something in her character, most trainers would not evolve their pokemon the first day they get them.

The second thing is the length. The prologue was fine, but the first chapter should be so much longer. You need more description, especially for the battling. Battles need to be descriptive because they can be pictured easily. You want to paint a picture in your readers head.

The final thing is the grammar. There are easily noticed mistakes and it looks like you rushed through this and just used the reply box. You should, if you can, use a MS Word document which will automatically see these mistakes and allow you to edit them. Here is a short review:

That night I was training endlessly with my prized Turtwig. I was sure Rochelle was doing the same with her Eevee. Luckily, her dad owned Zertinan department store so all she had to do to evolve her Eevee was e-mail her dad and ask for an evolution stone or a massage kit. This may seem like a digression but leads me back into training. My Turtwig had already learned a grass attack so if she's evolved Eevee into a Vaporeon she was basically screwed.

You said I've but you yourself would not learn a grass move. Vaporeon needs to be capitalized and you changed tenses with is, you needed was because you used the past tense.

I awoke quite late the next morning and told my parent's I was going to have a quick battle with Rochelle before I left. Professor Redwood had asked them about the League while I was in Mr. Lahars' class. Rochelle was waiting for me at the Route 501 field.

You need to capitilize I and Professor was misspelled.

"You're late! Just for that I get to see what pokemon you caught yesterday!" She chanted.
"You're pathetic Rochelle!" Then I drew out my Turtwig, observing Rochelle's expression - a wide grin.

Your needed to be you're. Definitely need to remember the I capitilization. You also need a apostrophe in Rochelle's to show possesion. Also, even though it isn't a big thing but I was told to always skip a line each time a different character speaks.

"Let's get this battle on!" I announced. Rochelle drew out a Flareon. I subtlety grinned, Rochelle thought she had the upper hand over me.

    "Ember!" She yelled.

"Quickly Turtwig, Bite!" The attack hit and Rochelle seemed really annoyed.

"Sand Attack Flareon" she said. The battlefield then was blanketed by sand, dust and other rock particles.

"Thanks Rochelle! Now Turtwig, Magnitude!" I announced.

"Jump as high as you can. Flareon you can dodge this!" she desperately screamed.

"Jump and Tackle Flareon to the ground!" I gleefully yelled. Flareon was thrown to the ground and hit by the high magnitude.

The one thing that got me here was Turtwig using Magnitude, the day after you got it! Magnitude would for one be a tough move for a small Turtwig to acomplish and the fact you've only had it for day really doesn't make it seem realistic. But it is your story so I'm not going to change it.

I'm going to leave the rest to you, there are still some small mistakes on the last few paragraphs. Just fix it up a bit and try your best to make it a little longer. Add some description in your next chapters as well and make sure to use a word processor so you can edit your mistakes. I hope this helps!

    Chapter 3: My Solo Journey

Travelling without Rochelle was definitely going to be different but it eventually revealed some perks.
    1. I didn't hear her arrogant voice constantly ringing in my ears.
    2. I wasn't in such a rush; I could take my time on my journey.
How Rochelle was doing in Zertinan wasn't on my mind much, mainly because I wasn't that bothered. Jewel has the ability to battle but according to Professor Redwood she wasn't great at teaching. I do a lot of teaching now, comes with the jobs I suppose but it's not as easy as you would think.

Tropia Forest was big. Not very descriptive but that's the only way I can describe it. Flowers were sparse; in fact the only ones I did see were Pokémon, good for my Pokedex but not my opinion of the area. The sky was barely visible but what was shone brightly, illuminating the forest and a lone Galaraptor, the pre-evolution to Griffrost and Snowl. 'The ice and flying addition to my team would be really useful in the long run' I thought. I decide to try and catch it.

"Turtwig, it's your time to shine!" I reached for my Pokeball and released Turtwig.
"Bite!" Turtwig launched at the surprised Galaraptor. It flew into the air and started to dive at Turtwig; it's beak glowing.
"Dodge the attack and then quick attack!" I barked. Unfortunately the attack hit Turtwig, stunning him.
"Turtwig! Get up and tackle!" Turtwig regained fatigue, leapt at the Galaraptor and tackled it to the ground. It looked unable to battle so I threw a Pokeball at it. A bit suspicious, the capture was successful strangely quick, almost as if it wanted to be caught. According to my Pokedex it does this to noble trainers. This pleased me and still does to this day; I still have that Galaraptor, now a Snowl.

With two Pokémon under my belt, I grew braver and dared to explore a bit more; veering off my chosen path to explore. Flocks of Starly swept the skies and bugs of all kinds littered the floors and trees. I took data from every single one of them but didn't catch one; I didn't want or need to, not right now anyway. I took the time to rest under a tree. Whipped out a pencil and paper and started to draw some scenery. Rochelle would never have let me do this so I took every opportunity with delight. Buneary hopped across, I incorporated them into the picture, hopping past the family of Cricketot and Cricketune. When I finished shading and adding light rays I stuck it into my book of Trainer tips; I didn't need them, it was stuff like "Potions heal Pokémon" and stuff like that.

I wandered into the undergrowth; the surroundings grew darker and darker until I could see barely a thing. Then I heard a twig snap. It came from behind me. I turned to see what it was, albeit I couldn't see a thing. Whatever it was it glowed, there was soon two, three of them making the light bright enough to see them. They were a group of Volbeats and guided me to light, I thanked them and they seemed to understand then glided off back towards the undergrowth. If Rochelle came here she wouldn't be here for more than twenty minutes. She would just run through not taking any time to look around but I was not Rochelle; regardless I decided I should really gey out of here and get to Tropia City. That didn't happen though.

A good while of getting lost later I eventually found myself on the other end of Route 503. I put my Turtwig and Galaraptor through some intense training, all that would be invaluable for Tropias' gym specialism - Water Pokémon. I made sure Turtwig's' vine whip was at its absolute best and saw what my Galaraptor could do. To test this I pitted myself against a bug trainer, Garry.

"Just a 1 on 1 yeah?" Garry requested
"Sure that's good for me, why though?" I asked.
"I only have 1 Pokémon and that's a..." Garry drew out a Dustox who completed his sentence. I then drew my Galaraptor who flew into the air.

"Dustox, Confusion!" A blue aura surrounded Galaraptor, who seemed to shake it off, Galaraptor then flew higher.
"Wing Attack!" I shouted. Galaraptors' wings started to glow purple, like its beak when I first caught it. Dustox was struck directly by Galaraptors' huge wings; seemingly injuring it.
    "Morning Sun" Garry shouted, smiling.
"Since when does Dustox learn Morning Sun? Ah well, peck!" I instructed, very confused. Peck missed and Galaraptor charged straight into a tree.
"Gust!" Garry commanded. The tree was caught in a great gust caused by Dustox, carrying Galaraptor with it. When the gust stopped, Galaraptor plummeted into the ground, knowing she had little energy left I commanded her to use double team. Many Galaraptors appeared around Dustox, in a sphere.
"Quick Attack!" I shouted to the sky of Galaraptors, which all smashed through Garrys' Dustox, appearing on opposite ends of the sphere, then disappeared, leaving two Pokémon, one fell to the ground and the other landed.

I withdrew my Galaraptor and congratulated Garry for a great battle.
"You put up a great fight." I praised. "Where did you get Dustox to learn Morning Sun?"
"Leanne taught it to Dustox, not me" Garry answered. "If you're going to Tropia Gym, you'll find out who she is.

In Tropia Pokémon Centre I guessed Leanne was the Gym Leader but finally wondered how Rochelle was doing in Zertinan, if she was even there yet, or if she had gone somewhere else instead....

The second thing is the length. The prologue was fine, but the first chapter should be so much longer.

The whole lead up to the first gym leader is a sort of prologue. The main story comes later, most of the best story is set after the pokemon league and E4.

Well it is better than the chapter before it but I did see a few things. First when you type numbers under 100, you write them out like 1 - one. I did see a few grammer mistakes but nothing too big, just remember to go through and check before posting. Your description did improve a bit but there's always more you can do.

Overall, it is better than chapter two. And if this all a big prologue, I guess it fits, just a different way of writing a fic!

    Chapter 4: Rochelles' Fishwolf

Rochelle was walking across Route 502, a direct connection from Meteo Port to Zertinan City. The unfortunate thing for her is that 502 was predominantly a sea route, with only a thin strand of land on the south peninsula. The best way, she eventually decided, was to get across via the Zertinan Underpass: a dark but artificial cave created by travellers in the same state as Rochelle.

The Underpass, despite being made for practicality, was long and winding. There were rumours floating about concerning the Aquarius Zodiac Pokémon, Fenrish and that it stalked the depths in search of a worthy opponent. Following her defeat by me though, Rochelle was not concerned, thinking that she wasn't worthy of such a Pokémon. She was but she just didn't know it until a Gym Trainer called Derren challenged her, she still doubted her ability until the battle turned.

    "Go, Heracross!" Derren called out.

"Flareon." Rochelle shouted vivaciously, she could put on a good face to mask her feelings, something I liked about her.

"Cross Chop Heracross!" Derren ordered. Heracross burst at Flareon, raising its arms. Flareon instinctively jumped out of the way, no command necessary.

"Quick Attack Heracross into the walls." Rochelle told Flareon.

"Dodge it with Lunarsault!" Derren responded confidently. Flareon rushed at Heracross, who jumped in a flip, taking Flareon with it. Flareon was thrown into the ceiling and fell to ground.

"Flareon, get up and get Heracross with Fire Spin!" Flareon drew breath and Rochelle took a step back, ushering Derren back with her. Flareon released and the cave beyond her was engulfed in swirling flames. Rochelled made a sincere smile.

"Well done Rochelle, my Heracross wouldn't be able to remain in that. You win." Derren admitted.

The Flames quickly died down; revealing a fainted Heracross and the legendary Fenrish. Rochelle stepped forward while Derren simply stood there, astonished. Fenrish stomped the ground, causing a uproar of water which circled it. When it fell, Fenrish started to turn a translucent blue and then transformed into a circular crystal-blue sphere which was oozing energy. The trainer's withdrew their Pokémon, staring at the crystal ball. Rochelle then dropped slowly to pick it up.
"WHOOOOOOHOHOH! YAHOOOOOOOHO!" Rochelle cheered and danced, rather badly.

"You're going to Zertinan right, you could... well... d'you want to come with me.
    "
"Oh yeah of course I do bugman!" Rochelle bellowed. "two heads are better than one to get out of this dark void."

Derren Nodded "Great, you wanted to speak with Jewel right? I am a member of her gym I can arrange that for you, just to say thanks."

    "For what?" Rochelle asked
    .
"I don't know, I tell you what, for this you owe me a favour." Derren resolved.

"Good." Rochelle ended. The two walked then ran ahead of them, Rochelle following Derren who clearly knew his way.

Out of the underpass, the two arrived in Zertinan City. Because of the Department store, the city was bustling, the biggest in Tezen and possibly in the Pokémon world. People and Pokémon walked the street and the buildings stood tall. The Department store and the city gym extended into the skies; or at least they seemed to. Zertinan gym was quite small; it just stood on a tall hill and had a high spire for Jewels' pet Salamence. Derren took Rochelle around the city outskirts; it turned out much faster than going through. By contrast, the outskirts were very quiet, small flower beds surrounded water fountains similar to those in-city, meaning further expansion was about to take place. In no time at all, Rochelle was in the Gym. Inside it was dominantly a silvery colour. The spire stood so tall clouds could be seen in the upper regions. A large electric orb sparked high above also. Rochelle ran up the spiral staircase and into Jewels' chamber.

"Derren called about you. Ask anything you want, if it's about battling I can probably answer." Jewel was not tall, quite short in fact. Her black, shoulder-length hair was braided with lucid beads. Rochelle started to talk as she sat on a large Dragoxic cushion. They talked for ages until Jewel Said this: "When your standing on the soils of the Elite Castle your gonna find out you had the courage to get there all along."

"Thanks." Rochelle smiled. She got up and left the gym, smiling all the way, she pulled out Fenrishes' PokeOrb and then looked up, looking upon all of Zertinan City then went back into the Underpass.

Again, another pretty good chapter. Just one thing that I think I forgot to metion before. When changing speakers, skip a line like this:

    "Go, Heracross!" Derren called out.

"Flareon." Rochelle shouted vivaciously, she could put on a good face to mask her feelings, something I liked about her.

"Cross Chop Heracross!" Derren ordered. Heracross burst at Flareon, raising its arms. Flareon instinctively jumped out of the way, no command necessary.

Other than that, I believe grammer wise it is fine. Better description than before, just maybe give your new pokemon a little more description to give them life, since no one else has seen them before. Good job in improving BlueSeal! =)

Just FYI, if you are going to vote in the polls, could you say why you think its good/bad, make it constructive though.
Also FYI this is going to be a VERY short chapter. Most chapters that are just before the End of Block (EoB) chapter will be.

    Chapter 5: My Big Building

Tropia city was immense, it had building's the size of tower blocks and although it's one of the smallest cities in Tezen, it's almost as big as Goldenrod in Johto! Before going to the gym, I decided to explore the town a bit. Many points of interest came to mind such as: The GTS of Tezen, the Waterworks (lots of good Pokémon) and the Trainers Underground.

My first point of call was the Trainer Underground, they can help Pokémon learn a lot of great moves and I was intent to get Turtwig to learn Razor Leaf in addition to Vine Whip. I left him in the care of the Undergrounders and left for the Waterworks with Galaraptor. The waterworks was thriving with Water Pokémon. Any that was captured; trainers were allowed to keep, similar to the Steel and Ice Mines. I could have done with water Pokémon so I went into the deepest corners to find a good one. A good while of swimming and motor boating (yes it is that big) later. I found a worthwhile gem of a Pokémon. A Staryu was swimming gracefully in the waters beyond me, how I was going to catch it was also beyond me; until I was handed a Gyarados Pokeball and some breathing apparatus by Venus, the motorboat driver. She told me some signals for Gyarados. Such as two claps for Rage.

"Wrap." I signalled. Gyarados wrapped herself around Staryu, whose purple-red thingy started to flash, Staryu then escaped with a rapid spin. Then it glowed again, releasing a wave of psychic energy. I retaliated with a bite attack. Staryu was clamped by Gyarados' tight jaw; then was the time I sent out a Pokéball, It nearly caught Staryu, but it failed, releasing it from Gyarados' grip in the process. Staryu proceeded to use Water Pulse.

"Dodge it, Waterfall!" I signalled. Gyarados jumped out of the water and created a pulsating waterfall, it pressed downwards on Staryu pressuring it to the bottom of the tank. I tried again with another Pokeball.
"Beep, beep... beep." A fanfare came from the breathing suit, meaning it was running out of air. I took myself and my two Pokémon to the surface.

"Here's your Gyarados back Venus." I returned the ball, ecstatic.

"Well done with that capture, you persevered through fires and flames. Metaphor by the way. I'll have to warn Holly about you." Venus congratulated.

I went back to the underground to check on Turtwig, he had learned Razor Leaf and was at the very peak of his powers. I was happy to battle with Leanne but there was one other thing I wanted to do. I sent Rochelle a picture message to her PokéPhone.

"Hi Rochelle, how you doing? Have you caught any new Pokémon? I have caught a Galarator and a Staryu. If you're jealous don't bother replying. Anyway I'm in Tropia City, just outside Tropia Gym. Turtwig has a good range of attacks now, Galaraptor and Staryu will be quite useful as well. How was Jewel, any good advice or anything you can give me? It would be great if I got a reply from you, we haven't spoken in ages, well, 2 weeks but still."

Soon later I got a reply. Rochelle was in a cave and there was a tall Gym Trainer with really short hair, dark clothes and a Zertinan Gym medallion standing behind her.

"Hi, Matt, I'm doing fine, I met Jewel and she's given me lots of advice so prepare to be creamed when we next meet. I'm in Zertinan Underpass with Derren, he was a Gym Trainer but he's decided to enter the Pokémon league with me." Rochelle discussed

"Hi, Rochelle told me you are good, when we meet in person I'll show you what you're up against in Zertinan Gym!" Derren warned.

I smiled as I slid down my PokéPhone and went to the PokéMarket to get some supplies for the battle ahead of me.

Chapter 6: My First Gym Battle

I entered the gym, imagining what it would look like. I was quite surprised; it was like a river flowing through a grassy cave, the waters ran through the centre of the gym while high outcrops of rock overlooked what lay below. Bridges connected these platforms, likely for trainers without surfing Pokémon. I walked past the trainers and their Pokémon, noticing many exotic ones I've never heard of. One of them had a long, worm-like Pokémon called Milotic; it swam gracefully through the waters like an Olympic swimmer. Another trainer was with a Starmie and was having it bend large tree branches with its mind.

Ahead of me I could see the entrance to another room. Judging by the outside of the Gym I guessed it was a dome shaped battle arena. This was confirmed as I stepped through the opening to the scene of my fist gym battle. I was really excited and could barely keep myself from screaming with joy. However, I simply walked up to the Gym Leader and requested a battle.

"Let's battle then!" Leanne replied. She was quite tall and had blue, bouncing hair. She wore a large-buckled belt with her dress. Her brown eyes were piercing like Professor Redwoods'.

"This will be a 2 on 2 single battle. Official Pokémon League rules apply; no additional ones." The Referee looked just like the one shown on televised gym battles. I hoped this one wasn't but when the interviewer Gabby and her Cameraman Ty came in and the Referee played the same music played on TV I was quite annoyed.

"Go, Azumaril!" Leanne summoned. I retaliated by releasing my Galaraptor.

    "Begin!" the Referee shouted.

"Water gun, Azumaril!" Leanne ordered. Azumaril squirted water up to Galaraptor.

"Dodge it and double team!" I commanded. About sixty Galaraptors appeared but Azumaril simply shot them down, one by one. I had to act fast. "Wing Attack!" I ordered and forty or so Galaraptors wings charged purple before charging down at Azumaril.

"Dive into the water, now Azumarils in the water, even if you do hit him it won't do as much damage to him!" Leanne reacted. Azumaril quickly leaped into the water. That didn't stop Galaraptor, who swooped down into the water, a hit could be heard and two Pokémon rose from the water.

"Good work, now hit Galaraptor quick with Dynamic Punch!" Azumarils glowing white fist blasted my unsuspecting Galaraptor. Surprisingly, she got back up to continue fighting.

"Freeze over the water with Icy Wind!" I ordered. Galaraptor started to flap its wings freezing over the central stone platform and the surrounding water. "Now Double Team and Wing Attack!" Galaraptor gladly followed.

"Use Rock Climb to get up to the Galaraptors!" Azumaril Climbed the disappearing ladder of Galaraptor before making it to the circular peak. "Now, Whirlpool!" Azumaril caught the Galaraptors in a swirling whirlpool. I could use that to my advantage.

"Use the whirlpool to Peck Azumaril in the centre!" The Galaraptors swooped at Azumaril constantly before it finally fell to the floor.

"Azumaril is unable to the battle. Match goes to Galaraptor and Matt!"

"Well done but its not over 'till its over!" Leanne Declared. "Quagsire, take the stage!"

"Batter it, Turtwig!" I released him, expecting a rather easy fight.

    "Begin!" the Referee shouted.

"Razor Leaf!" I shouted. Turtwig released a barrage of razor-sharp leaves in Quagsires' direction. I smiled.

"Whirlwind then Rollout, don't think you're gonna win!" Leanne instructed. Quagsire responded by blowing away the leaves then started to roll through the ice to me. The ice built up around Quagsire as it charged for Turtwig.

"Magnitude, get out of the way Turtwig!" I shouted, quite desperately. Turtwig caused the magnitude which sent Quagsire skyward. After it plummeted into the ice I commanded "Turtwig, vine whip to catch Quagsire, then razor leaf!" The vines entangled Quagsire tightly before Turtwig released the leaves. A direct hit and Turtwig released Quagsire.

"Quagsire get up!" Leanne screamed. Quagsire remained motionless."

"Quagsire is unable to battle; victory goes to challenger Matt of Grasswhistle." Referee declared.

After the battle and the pointless interviews, Leanne congratulated me.

"Well done, Matt, you managed to keep your cool in front of those stupid reporters, and you managed to beat me. You show really good technique with the way you executed strings of attacks. Kudos, you have definitely earned the Torrent Badge" Leanne handed me a shining waterfall shaped badge. It had a zigzag blue pattern on the fall and gushes of water at the bottom "it will get you past the barriers leading into Zertinan Lake. You should also take this." She then handed me a disc. "It contains TM water pulse. You didn't see it today but I will want a rematch soon. Goodbye, let the blessing of water Pokémon be forever with you."

I left Tropia Gym thinking of my next destination, I could head down through the Zertinan Underpass and Lake to Zertinan City Gym or head to Orachia City Gym via the Wayward caverns and the Aerial City of Lhusa. I wondered what Zertinans' Gym badge was and whether Rochelle got it, and where she was headed was she trying to catch up to me? All these thoughts and concerns flew through my head along Route 505, on my way to Lhusa City.

Matt says (at Hydropump): Thanks, Leanne was a great trainer, i still admire her even at my current position
    Chapter 7: Rochelle's Long Journey

Rochelle and Derren were passing through the Zertinan Lake. Courtesy of Derren's gym trainer status, they could venture into any part of the glistening, uncontaminated lake. This wasn't at the top of the Rochelle's totem pole; despite objections from Derren.

"Come on lets just get through here so we can get to Tropia city and thrash Leanne!" Rochelle moaned, persistently, seemingly hanging off Derren's arm like a little kid.

"What is it with you and the rushedy, rush, rush?" Derren responded. "You're working on a Pokedex after all, why not calm down and take it easy, do some exploring." Rochelle let go of Derren and let out Fenrish. Fenrish stood tall on its smooth, almost rubbery yet firm legs. It ran onto the lake; galloping around a large area like a rogue bull. Derren let out Heracross. Who leapt about the trees and sucked the sap from them. Derren sat on a bench while Rochelle sat on the river bank.

After a while of chatting and Wingull shooing later; a crash was heard from beyond the trees.

"What the hell was that?" Someone on the lake questioned; looking puzzled and slightly scared.

"Sounded like a tree falling. Maybe it was a mad Gyarados, and we all know what happed last time." Another blurted; further scaring the previous someone. The sound came closer, almost exactly the same. It came faster, then louder. Then a large Marice appeared; neighing angrily. A girl with a thick coat, hat and socks came running out from the darkness. She spoke with a distinct Sinnoh accent which explained the clothing. She chased the Marice vigorously until she called Rochelle and Derren for help.

"Get her under control, do whatever you have to just do it quick!" She yelled. Rochelle and Derren called their Pokémon as they prepared to faint the Marice.

"Let's do this!" Rochelle cried. "Fenrish, Bite Marice and keep her tight." Fenrish leapt at Marice, opening its wide jaw. Marice shot across the bushes to dodge and responded with a chilling Ice beam to Heracross. Heracross was badly damaged but managed to keep on going, albeit a lot slower.

"Heracross, use Cross Chop!" Heracross dashed weakly alongside Marice, slicing it with his still-powerful hands. Marice fell to the floor. "Now quickly use Vital Throw!" Heracross hammer threw Marice into the air, pushing himself hard to keep control. Rochelle decided to turn this into a combo.

"Headbutt Marice higher in the air then Aqua Jet into Assault!" Fenrish jumped up head-first into Marice. Then, in a burst of water, thrust itself into Marice again then struck with a barrage of lunges. Marice fell to the floor and had fainted.

"Thanks, I'm Lara from Snowpoint City I'm Candice's little sister. Thanks for calming Marice; she got a bit moody when she arrived here. Sinnoh has a much colder climate than Tezen. This is why you tend to find the male Geldare here." She returned Marice to her Pokéball as Rochelle and Derren did with their Pokémon. She was looking at Rochelle as if Derren wasn't there at all "it's good to meet you Rochelle, if either of your Pokémon ever go mad give me a call so I can repay you." Lara handed Derren a piece of paper then walked back into the trees and waved to both Rochelle and Derren.

"Why did she act as if she had already met you and was introducing herself to me?" Rochelle quizzed. "Have you met her before?"

"Yeah, I'm a native of Sinnoh and I lived in Snowpoint city 'till I was fifteen." Derren replied. "Me and my three brothers lived next door to her and Candice. Me and Lara were big rivals for a while; it was a friendly rivalry and we spurred each other to become better trainers but that rivalry became something a little bit bigger... That's enough back-story; let's get outta here before we have to deal with anything else." Derren ran towards route 504 with a baffled Rochelle following suit.

Route 504 was long and winding but simple. It was almost deserted of both people and Pokémon. I later found out that was attributed to the sewers of Zertinan and Tropia running under to the treatment plant, which was sprawling with poison Pokémon, polluting the air making it uninhabitable by other Pokémon. Rochelle and Derren eventually made it to Tropia City. Minus the committed visit to the Pokémon Centre, the pair headed straight for the Gym, opting to explore the bustling city afterwards.

"This long a journey just for the first badge!" Rochelle joked, slightly down-hearted. "Matt got his badge ages ago; he's probably already got his second!"

"You can't say it wasn't worth it, you caught a brilliant Legendary Pokémon, met me and got a hoard of brilliant advice from Jewel. You'll catch up in the League Challenge and when you do you'll topple Matt!" Derren was good at picking peoples spirits up and Rochelle was no exception. "Come on, you know you have the confidence and the will to do this." Derren then took Rochelle by the hand as they walked into the gym.

    Chapter 8: My Elite Offer

I was walking down Route 505 with Galaraptor flying beside me, knowing she will come in useful for Lhusa. I was looking for a fight. I didn't care if it was a trainer of a wild Pokémon. I wanted to evolve Galaraptor so she could fly me up to Lhusa; there is no other way up there. Soon, I found a wild Kricketune in the tall grass. An ambush was the best way to go, so I took that route.

"Icy Wind!" I whispered to Galaraptor, her wings started flapping freezing cold air; unfortunately I was also on the receiving end of it. Nevertheless I continued with the fight.

"Kricketune, use Signal Beam!" a voice came from deeper in the grass and then out came a small bug trainer. He has purple hair and at first I couldn't tell if he was a boy or girl. "My names Bugsy, I'm the Azalea Town Gym Leader and you thought that was a wild bug Pokémon didn't you?"

"Yes I-" I started to say, but Bugsy infuriatingly interrupted me and continued speaking.

"-Couldn't see me... If you reference my height once more I'll sic my Scyther on you. Anyways; Kricketune, Signal Beam!" A due of vivid colour-changing beams fired at Galaraptor. Only slightly injuring her.

"Double Team!" I commanded. Several other Galaraptors appeared. This time I was going to try something different. The Galaraptors were told to form a spring shape. "Now, real Galaraptor; icy wind on the others!" Galaraptor blew frosty winds over her counterparts, freezing them to form a high circle around Kricketune; who was attempting to use uproar to shatter the ice statues.

"Kricketune, Fury Cutter!" Bugsy desperately squeaked. Kricketune pointlessly swiped at the statues, making nothing but minor scratches.

"Dive down for Wing Attack!" I gleefully yelled to Galaraptor who started to plunge down. It wasn't long before I noticed: "That isn't Wing Attack!" Galaraptor broke the sound barrier ad was emitting a red wave of energy before blasting into the ice tower. A huge explosion occurred, destroying the ice tower and leaving Kricketune fainted. Galaraptor was still radiating red light.

"She's evolving!" Bugsy pointed out what I already guessed. Galaraptors body changed to a bright white colour and was completely featureless as the shape changed into that of a Griffrost. Griffrost was much taller and wider than Galaraptor. Meaning I could ride her, I tried it out and as I flew, "Goodbye!" Bugsy was waving me off. "Good luck on your journey to Lhusa!" How he knew I was going to Lhusa was beyond me but it really annoyed me too.

Flying above the Ruins that are the majority of Route 505 was both a breathtaking view and very relaxing. From a birds eye view you could see a range of things that you would never see on foot, Shrines to Giratina and Pandemos. Why there were shrines to them I didn't know I mean them two were the Pokémon who destroyed the place. When I was really close to Lhusa, A fat man wearing shades and a blue shirt flew alongside me on his Dragonite.

"Hi, my names Scott, I saw your fights against Leanne and Bugsy and I must say I'm very impressed. For a rookie trainer you could certainly keep control over battles and you strings of attacks are simply magnificent." He chatted

"Thanks, but I'm not that good I-" And I got cut off again! Why did it keep happening I wondered.

"Seriously if you keep moving at this pace and strength you have more than enough potential to be a Gym Leader. Or if that's not for you, you could even challenge the Tezen Battle Frontier. I'm being serious and I have a lot of control over the Pokécommunity; I can make it happen. Of course you will have to beat the Elite Four first but for you I can bet that won't be a problem."

"Well I'll consider it but It will take a while. I'm working on a Pokedex for Professor Redwood."

"Not a problem, you see, as a gym leader you have free and unlimited access to the trains, you'll have lots of time to travel. Also what are challengers going to battle you with?" Scott continued

    "Pokémon." I responded

"And what are other Frontier Challengers and Brains going to challenge you with." Scott quizzed.

    "Pokémon!" I answered.

"Exactly, I can bet I'll be seeing a lot more of you in the coming months, but for now, I'll see you later!" Scott finished and flew away towards the Elite Tower. I continued towards Lhusa, very surprised and flustered about what I just heard. I continued as I saw the magnificent aerial city of Lhusa ahead of me, and thought of what I could do.
