    To me, one of the best part about Pokemon was the theme songs.
    Discuss the best and the worst english/Japanese theme songs and what you each disliked or liked about them!

    Best: Most of the Japanese songs and Johto Master Quest theme
    Worst: 'Symphinia' Japanese song and English Diamond/Pearl opening :P

    The D/P opening was so discordant, I had the urge to turn off my tv.

    mm I don't listen to the Japanese theme songs, when it comes to the English ones:

    Best: Pokémon Advanced Battle (Unbeatable) - Johto Master Quest
    Edit: I forgot "This Side of Paradise"


    Worst: Diamond And Pearl (even though I'm getting used to it) - Orange islands theme - Battle Frontier Theme

    it's "Pokemon Symphonic Medley" and it was maybe the highest quality Pocket Monsters opening. So it cannot be the worst song. Maybe you dont like it but it's not a badly done song. And why do you dislike it?
    I like that song (and the video that went with it) but I like others more.
    I like the Pocket Monsters Diamond&Pearl opening because it's so happy and the long version sounds very Irish at parts.
    I'd have to say my favorite ones are Challenger, OK and Mezase Pokemon Master (Whiteberry). Challenger because it wont get too old or repetitive for me, MPM because it has a fun sound to it and OK because I looove it and the speed it has

    As for the English songs, I currently like Masterquest's, Born to be A winner, and Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.
    Masterquest - because I started watching Pokemon again in season 5 and this song just felt like home to me. It was my new Gotta Catch 'Em All song

    oh yeah, I just want to clear this up
    BEST =/= FAVORITE
    just because you like the song to bits, doesn't mean it's the highest quality song you know

    oh yeah, and reasons for disliking and liking these songs would actually make your post more worth reading

    Ready,Go - too techno for me
    Advanced Adventure - just boring
    Spurt - I dont like the mood and I also dont like when Rica Matsumoto sings (OK being an exception, because she sounds better when she's yell-singing)
    and
    Pokemon Advanced - other than the joke I have about it, I dont really care for it
    the joke is that the lyrics are "dont know what's ahead but it wont get the best of me" and one time I heard "dont know what's a head but it wont get the best of me"
    it makes me lol every time

    and the first season Gotta Catch em All because it's so overrated and I heard it one too many times back in the day

    god, talk about an inconsistant post. I kept switching list styles because I was too lazy to look at the first list for reference

    In your opinion...I like that it includes lots of different theme songs but as an opening it is very boring.

    My favourite Japansese songs:

    OK! - Its really hyper, love it
    Ready Go! - LOVE the singing and music. This was the first Japanese song I had heard EVER which I accidently found while watching an AMV. Back then I got annoyed whenever I found a Japanese song instead of an English one. But when the AMV got deleted I had no idea what song it was or if I would ever find it again. I was SO pleased when I found it on a website when I was going through Japanese Pokemon songs
    Aratanaru Chikai - Again, I love Naomi Tamura's voice
    Battle Frontier - 2nd Japanese song I heard. Love the singing
    Spurt - Rika Matsumoto's singing is amazing here. Its so powerful and strong, I love it

    Worst Japanese openings:

    Mezase Pokemon Master Whiteberry - I was shocked, SHOCKED, to find out the people singing this were an actual band...and were ADULTS. I honestly thought children were singing it. Rica Matsumoto should have sung it. But the music was good
    Challenger: So, so, so, so boring...

    Favourite English openings:

    Johto Journeys - So happy!
    Johto League Champions - Really cool
    Advanced Challenge - I love the lyrics and the tune's cool
    Advanced Battle - Coolness.

    Worst:

    Orange Islands - Cheesyness overload! Its embarrasing to watch with other people around
    Chronicles: Same as Orange Islands. The GS Pokerap just isn't a good opening

    Random songs I like:

    Together We'll Make a Promise
    Watashi, Makenai!
    Mamaru Beki Mono
    Sokoni Soraga Arukara
    Mezase Pokemon Master 1998
    Mezase Pokemon Master 2001
    Kimi no Soba de POPUP version
     
    OK!, Rival, Type Wild (both english and japanese) and Mezase Pokemon Master '98 are my favorites. I wonder, when did they play the Mezase Pokemon Master '98? There is one in the movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back, but it's only a short version. Did they ever play the full version in any movie or episode?

    I also like the ending theme of Mewtwo Strikes Back.

    I like Unbeatable and Misty's Song. I have no clue why tho...

    I hate the Diamond and Pearl opening. It makes no sense.

    Openings I dislike:

    Symphonia Meledy:
    The song did not match the video and was slightly depressing
