tombstoner... pain nail... pain splitter... [edit: perish song]... whatever did happen to the classic ghost-type moves?
i realize they still exist, but in a different way... pain nail is basically 'curse' except pain nail would sacrefice much less of your hp, and YOU couldnt be killed by using it with low hp... and it would still curse...
tombstoner was the 'flamethrower' of ghost type moves... had good attack power, and good accuracy, and was the best general-use ghost move...
pain splitter i think is now just an ability for duskull... psh... in silver/gold, it was a buff that, when enemy attacked, it would do damage to them equal to damage recived, and if you die, they too automatically die...
song of passing was a meh so-so version of 'destiny bond'... destiny bond is better in the fact that it only affects the enemy when the user dies... however, it doesnt affect ghost-resistant foes, and even if it does, doesnt always work. song of passing would start a 5 turn count down where Both misdreavus and the enemy would both be killed, 100%, and since its a buff, it affected all types...
i know ghost pokemon have never been all that popular until now... (about time they got some decent ones..) but i think nintendo took it's hatred for ghosts just a bit too far.
pokemon used to be fun because it was tactical... you could cleverly execute moves that would taunt and destroy your enemie's self-esteem... slowly... but surely... and now, its like every type can kill every type, and its all beat'em up with raw power... its kinda moved beyond 'effective, and not effective' into 'attack and special attack power' and the elemental types have less influence in battle.
