ok i am going to make a pokemon game

i wanted to know how to make it exactly like how the pokemon creaters did

i have RPG Game Maker XP

but idonno how to use it, well i do but i need to know if thats right,

also i have pokemon ensentials kit downloaded (idk what i need that for)

basically i just need to know how to build the first part of the map and then i can do the rest on my own.


any advice for me!!!

I have just played around with RMXP to figure out how things work. I have Pokemon Hall Of Fame downloaded and the creator left it so that you are able to actually go into the game file and look as the way things were done. I learned quite a few things about RMXP that I did not know how to do by tearing apart that file.

As far as laying maps goes, just choose a tile from the tile set and "paint" it into the game window. Be sure to watch layers where you put things, putting buildings on the first layer and grass on the second layer means that the grass is on top of the buildings, so you will not see the buildings. Be sure to map so that seven tiles on either side are trees or areas you can not see black, and do the same on the top and bottom, only using five tiles though.

hmmm, but is there a different way? like how other ppl do it (pokemon : raptor?, ect ,ect) because mine looks really different, and retarted and newbish :(

I can Easily Do It MySelf,Mapping For My Game I Didn't Use Anything To Help Me
But I can make Maps For you if you Like? I am using Poocils Kit

Try to play around in the editor or the helpfile. You'll learn something really useful. Try to learn the basic first before you start making a game. This is my advice^^
