I find it strange that in Black and White, cars and trucks aren't present in the overworld, but are obviously seen in roads like the one in the desert or near bridges. Other than that, they are completely absent except for the few trailers in random routes...
I also find Sigilyph's design strange. I know it's based off of the Nazca lines, but I've seen the Nazca lines, and they are actually very bird-like, but Sigilyph has an exaggerated circular abdomen whereas the nazca bird has a straight narrow abdomen... It's particularly strange...
I also think that it's strange that Bisharps are dark-type when Bishops are supposed to be great religious heads... Is this a naming/translation error? Is this a statement about religion? We might never know... Maybe it's just part of a grand Chess motif.
I find the relationship between Durant and Heatmor strange. Durant is supposed to be eaten by Heatmor constantly because of its small size and heavy weakness against Heatmor, but I find it interesting that Durant can learn Dig and easily take Heatmor down. I also find it interesting that Durant attack in mobs, and wonder why they don't just use Dig to take down the Heatmor... Dig is very effective against Heatmor and can easily knock it out, yet Durant is the one being constantly devoured...
I find the Solosis family's names interesting. Their names are based on their evolutionary stage (Solo = 1, Duo=2) but the last one, Reuniclus, is particularly strange because it doesn't go with a number theme. This was until I read the Pokédex and saw that Duosion had two brains and that they come back together when they become Reuniclus. The nucleus can be thought of as the brain of a cell; it directs the cell what to do and how to do things. So basically, Reuniclus is a Duosion who had its nucleus reunited.
I basically find all the names interesting. Especially gymleaders and Elite fours. Elite four Lorelei was a particularly interesting one because her name doesn't really seem obvious. Whereas Agatha can come from the word "aghast" and Glacia takes her name from "glacier", Lorelei seems to be an outlier...
