But closing threads is all we do!

Threads get closed simply if they break the rules (because...well, they're breaking the rules! They're there for a reason - each section has their own rules thread so consulting those would explain what is allowed and what isn't, and why) or another similar thread already exists (either that or the thread gets merged with the other, depends - but no point for two threads on the same subject), or if the thread is in the wrong place (like this one!) etc - otherwise they don't get closed, simple as that. Plenty of open threads about if you look, including in this section.

If you have a question on why a specific thread is closed I suggest asking the mod who closed it. As for your prediction - yes, this thread shall be closed because a) see above reason in this paragraph for what you should do with asking about closed threads and b) this is the wrong section anyways - the HGSS section here is for discussing the HGSS games rather than asking about closed threads. =p As said any other questions ask the mods who closed your threads (assuuming your qualm lies there), or toss me/a higher-up a VM I guess. Hope that answers it for you though?
