Here is where you can discuss a major Trade within Ash & co. in "Throwing the Track Switch."

    My review to come forthwith.

I won't be on much of today, so posting it early.

Well this episode dub did had some funny scenes in it. But, I'm glad they traded it because first Ash needs a Water Type Pokemon for the rest of the Gym Leaders and second, Aipom will at least help Dawn ever someday win the second Ribbon. So this episode was great and funny.

Fantastic episode. I agree with Nightmare that Ash needed a Water type and Buizel is just the one, the BEST and coolest water type in Sinnoh, through Ash should have gotten Buizel in the "Buizel Your Way Out of This!" episode in the first place. To this day I still don't know why the writers would give Buizel to Dawn when they are going to trade later o.o' it makes no sense to me. Plus Dawn had Piplup so she hardly needed 2 water types. Poor James is still sad that Cacnea is gone, the poor guy. If it wasn't for Zoey showing up in this episode then the trade probarly wouldn't have happened, so for that I gave Zoey some Respect points. Lol at Zoey seeing Chimchar.

Yay the episode primered and the Pokemon fandom didn't blow up the Earth!^^

Anyway, I loved the dub episode. I watched it just now and I loved when Nozumi said, "Everyone is touched by your outpour of emotion, but..." I also really liked how they carried James' depression over Cacnea was brought into this episode. Only problem is that the opening is still gonna show Ash's team with Aipom until next season.

This was a funny episode. I guess I just going to focus on just Team Rocket since really they just kinda were just funny. Teeheehee

AWWWW!!! Poor James!!!! They decided to keep this over for another episodes too. I am really glad they decided let us remember that he lost Cacnea which was kinda sad still and how Jessie and Meowth wanted to help him. Teeheehee

As in the Aipom and Buizel thing. I kinda think they planned it like this to happen. I mean this saga has been full of surprises and really maybe this was just an idea they had to keep it intresting. It got us talking that for sure. Teeheeheee

It was a cool episode. It was cool how James was still sad about Cacnea, whereas with Chimecho he hasn't thought about it since. They probably wanted to show an actual trade in the anime since they haven't really shown a proper one yet...

    - I found it kind of funny how Dawn kept saying Buizel was doing everything wrong
    - I thought Ash might have had a flashback of Butterfree...oh well...
    - Wha...what was with Wobbuffet's voice!?!?
    - Hey! It's the Abandoned Ship BGM from RSE! Haven't heard that before! Must be the dub...
    - Jessie gets a rose as well as James now?
    - Wow, strange BGM when they traded

    Quotes

    Jessie: Team Rocketise their Pokemon!

Wait, she wants to make them weaker than level 1 Magikarp?

    Ash: Brocko
    Ash: Eww! Eww! Eww!
I'm not sure why that was so funny haha

Well, in fairness, James would show more trust for his implied childhood caketakers, than a young Gym Leader whom he's known on-screen for only a few times. I think it's a more trust ratio, if anything. And, yes, I've, too, wondered why Chime never mentioned since. From the BF OP, the writers haven't forgotten it (compared to, say, Dustox), so I'm wondering, "what's going on?"

Also, I think the last official trade was the one where James gave up his Victreebel (I forget the title, at the moment). The Magikarp salesman had a portable Trade machine on him. Not nearly as large/clunky as the one seen on "Battle Abroad the St. Anne." Either way, it's been a while.

Well, he didn't really say it was because he didn't know Gardinea (or did he? I can't remember) he just seemed upset that Cacnea was gone. And I thought he said he always wanted a Chimecho, I can't really remember.

My point was, say, if you entrust your pet to someone you know, then you probably would not worry/say about said pet as much. Compared that to someone you've met for a few times. Yes, she's a Gym Leader, but that doesn't mean she is more trustworthy, as even Gym Leaders don't always set a proper example (anime Giovanni, for openers).

I'm just adding an extra dimension to the mix, for I need to see the episode, anyway. And adding to my quest of questioning why he did it. Heh.

As for Chime, actually, he didn't say boo about wanting one until the episode he caught it.

    Here's Dogasu's rant on that: https://dogasu.bulbagarden.net/comparisons/houen/ep084.html

    I watched the episode.

Anyway, i think he is not worried about Chime because he entrusted him to people he knew since childhood so he knows he will be taken cared of.

Cacnea however, he entrusted to a person he hardly knows, so its hard not to show some feelings, and Cacnea also was a longer time with James than Chime was.

The trade events were pretty bland IMO. And what's worse is that the Pokémon didn't show their objection at all. =/

Would've made for a nice episode had that happened. Oh well. However, I kinda like this episode overall.

Ugh, the art is horrible in this episode. Wonky eyes and Zoey looked awful at times.

Well it seems like the pokemon just didn't mind being traded since they both got what they wanted. Buizel get to now battle how he wants instead of being all fancy like Dawn wanted and now Aipom gets to just do what she wanted which is contest like moves. Still I can see your point. I would like to have seen Aipom kinda not liking this since it would have met that she won't be around Ash as much and steal his hat like she use to but I guess the writers are okies with that.

OH SU!!! Also I remember something that I found so cute!!!! The beginning of the episodes where Bunery was rubbing Pikachu's tummy! SO CUTE!!!!! SU!!!!!
