Timeline discussion

I still don't know why you started to talk about timeline in post #18 but whatever...

Anyway, Game Freak will obviously never say about planning all generations in advance, the same like they will never say what kind of game they are currently working on.

They games are made, thought up, designed, how ever you want to twist the word around, after the last one was finished.
No, those bolded words don't mean the same thing.
I agree that things like detailed designing and producing of new generation is always being done after last generation is finished. However, planning in advance is different thing - it must be done earlier to keep games' storylines getting more complex every generation and for remakes purposes. More complex storyline concepts are being saved for later games.
Ruins of Alph's all mysteries weren't revealed in gen 2. They were saved for HG/SS to reveal their connection to Sinnoh. R/S/E are the only games outside gen 5 to have different music for Gym Leader and Elite Four, dive system, two Champions with possibility of one changing another in post-game in remakes. More of that, R/S/E have clock-based events without having visible day/night system. R/S/E are obviously prepared to get visible day/night system in remakes.
If Game Freak weren't planning games in advance, R/S/E wouldn't get all those things because Game Freak wouldn't know they will remake those games in gen 5 or further in the future.

Uhh...Because this is a thread to discuss the time line. Which was majority of the discussion in this thread

In reference to what you are spouting out yes they have the same outward meaning.

Adding to something does not mean it was originally thought up at that point in time. Sinnoh wasn't thought up in Generation 2, neither was Hoenn. The Sinjoh ruins didn't exist, weren't thought up, wasn't even a thought until Soul Silver and Heart Gold.

The Mystery of the Ruins was pretty much thought out in Generation two when you read the stories the Unown left. They were also made in reference to the Seven wonders of the world, Mysterious ruins that no one knew how they came to be. They weren't meant to be finished or had any deeper meaning than existing. They added more of the Ruins in Fire Red and Leaf Green to go with the Ruins found everywhere else, how do those tie into the Sinjoh ruins? They aren't close enough to the mainland to be linked.

The Clock based events were a transfer over from Gold/Silver's events. The only reason we did not have visible changes for Day and Night was because of the Weather Engine that was introduced into Generation 3 games. The games couldn't support both engines so they went with the Weather one over the Day and Night since it was the newest idea. Every game except Gen 1 and its Remakes had the clock based events, only reason the Remakes didn't have them was because the originals did not have them. Which says a lot about Gamefreak in terms of how they relate Originals and Remakes. If it wasn't in the original sets they most likely won't be in the remakes.

So no Adding to something that existed doesn't mean that they originally thought all of it up especially when its in reference to Regions that weren't thought up yet either. No the games were not thought up years before their teams worked on it. Gamefreak had also already stated that they never started work on Generation 5 until 2 to 3 years before it was released, again that is a Year or so AFTER DIAMOND AND PEARL. SO no they did NOT start working on Unova around the time of Hoenn. Unova wasn't a thought then.

The order of the games doesn't effect timeline the World revolves around. Even if it did than all your arguments would be invalid because then everything we've been saying would be correct.

The only reason day/night was missing in gen 3 is because of gen 1 remakes. They could keep day/night without any problem because weather changes are not another engine, they're just graphic effects.

If R/S/E wasn't thought in advance of being remade in 5 gen or further, how would you explain all those R/S/E's similarities to B/W I mentioned before?

No, they didn't take out the day and night because of a Remake. Ruby and Sapphire did not have visible time of day because of the Weather system. And yes it was another engine that tool the place to run the graphics because the Rain and Sandstorm Graphics were ran under a different program in the games.

They don't PLAN Remakes that far either. How do I explain your coincidences? Coincidences nothing more. In fact there is a severe LACK of resemblances to Hoenn in Unova and you are the only one that really sees the differences because many people have said that its closer to the other regions. There are more similarities to Kanto and Johto than it has to Hoenn physically wise. Pokemon wise its closer to Kanto. Story wise its pretty damn close to Sinnoh's with the Creation Plot.

Hoenn has the least resemblances in Generation 5.

Those things are too suspicious to be just coincidences.
Technically wise (elements of region design such as deserts and dive areas and story concepts) Hoenn and Unova are the closest games. Like I said before, Hoenn and Unova are the only regions to have different opponents after Elite Four. If Game Freak will make Wallace replacing Steven in post-game or even during first run in R/S remakes, then it will be obvious they planned gen 5 standard R/S remakes before. It's already obvious for me, but I guess you don't believe anything until it's officially confirmed by Game Freak. So, let's end talking about this and wait for those remakes.

Many people follow a philosophy of not believing things without proof or confirmation. Nothing wrong with that. In regards to the second sentence, yes. Let's end talking about this and wait for those remakes. This thread was pointless from the start if that's how you were going to leave it. Like XanderO said somewhere earlier in the thread, we're just beating a dead horse here. And that's that.

Locked.
