Characters of the Day! They've been a staple for the Pokemon anime since its conception, providing the majority of the filler between gym and contest battles, and appearances by whatever evil team is running amok at the moment. They've introduced Pokemon, provided shelter - and no end of problems half the time - and, more often than not, been given the standard "see you again sometime!" line, only never to be seen again.
So, which characters of the day were your favourites? Any you'd like to see return in the future? What sort of things do you imagine they would have been up to in the meantime, and what would you like to see them doing now? Share your thoughts! :3
Also, for anyone who considers this wishful thinking, remember Jessiebelle's random appearance after years in the DP anime...it probably IS wishful thinking, but it's not entirely outside of the realm of possibility =P
As for me...I want to see some of the COTDs from the original series return. Some of Ash's earlier opponents - Giselle, The Astounding Mandy, Jeanette Fisher - were quite memorable to me, and having them appear in the leagues again would make the battles leading up to the inevitable rival clashes that much more entertaining to watch. Giselle in particular, given Ash's reaction to her the first time around...Serena would probably go up in flames. xD
I'd love to see Duplica make a return as well, if only because both times she popped up there was a round of hilarious plagiarism, and for some reason I can see her being interested in showcases.
...for some reason, I also want to see the Eevee Brothers and the Kimono Sisters battling it out in an episode focusing on Sylveon; it'd be absolute chaos. I always wanted those two groups to meet up, but it never happened...it probably never will, but it's fun to imagine it. xD
