Hello! so last night I downloaded advance map to try my hand at making something in emerald and i have a few questions. im still super new to this so explain it to me like im stupid LOL. 1: is it possible to use two tilesets at once? I've been using the default one but it doesnt have something i really want to put in the area. 2: How do I change the town map? and 3: how do I add totally new pokemon into the game?.

I really appreciate any help, and sorry if these questions are really annoying

    Hey there,
The Game Development forum is for fangames, not ROM hacks. I've moved your thread to the Binary ROM hacking forum, it'll be easier to find answers to your questions here.

Definitely consider using the decomps (the current best way to hack a Gen III ROM) instead. Using Advance Map is so 2010, particularly for Emerald.

Nowadays you can access the source code for Emerald and change it to do your bidding. Maps, adding Pokémon, etc.

In fact some peeps have already made some wicked resources available that include every Pokémon, ability and item.
So it's taken a lot of the leg work away.
