What's the toughest enemy/Pok?mon/Gym/Trial you've had to beat in the games?
For me it is Mysery Dungeon's Kecleon. If you steal from him in the games, he'll become super overpowered, with double speed, and he'll bring hundreds of his friends along. What a nightmare.

For Generation 1, if you don't grind to a super high level, Misty can be a real pain in the ass thanks to Bubblebeam. If you ever do Nuzlocke or other peculiar challenges involving that generation, you'll come to agree with me on that. Almost lost a Pokemon to her in my latest run with Agatha being the other one to truly give me an issue.

As for Pokemon, I always found catching Safari Pokemon to be a huge challenge as its all based on damn luck.

That bloody Drapion in Shadows of Almia cost me a ragequit after I failed on it over 5 times the first time I went up against it.

I took approximately a bajillion years to catch Mewtwo in Pokemon X. I didn't really have a great team for dealing with its moveset and self-healing.
    Taunt is bae

Imagine encountering a Shiny in the Safari Zone...it was a nightmare for my nerves.
As for Misty I guess it depends on your team, I don't remember Gen 1 well but she wasn't the one giving me trouble iirc. I know the Poison Leader (Koga?) made me rage because of Minimize and Acid Armor on Muk in FRLG

lmao never heard of that Drapion, what was it doing?

When you get the capture meter to over halfway, it starts spamming a long-lasting gas cloud attack that takes 10 damage off your Styler, three times in a row, and is also too wide to be able to circle around. The real clincher is that after it uses the attack it'll move around for about four seconds, letting you circle it, and then use it again! This makes it harder to raise the meter because it'll just keep dropping if you leave it for too long, and it almost requires you to use Poke Assists effectively. If you didn't take a Drowzee with you, you were effectively SOL for the battle.

Pokemon Yellow is different from Red/Blue and FRLG are a different game altogether being Generation 3 in the Generation 1 setting. In Yellow, Koga has level 44, 46, 48 Venonats and a level 50 Venomoth and he has Toxic mixed in with Sleep Powder, Double Team and Psychic moves. Nasty combination if you don't have Fire, Psychic or Ground moves to take them out fast. Misty's Bubblebeam is a move that does a lot of damage at that point in the game. If you face her with underlevel'd Pokemon, she might knock out a Pokemon or two.
