2nd Gen Trading help

    Hi, I have a GBA sp and an original GBA and I am trying to trade beteen my crystal and my gold. Every time I go to the lady to trade, one of the games says "Please wait" and the other says I have to save before I trade. By the time the one that saves is finished saving, the other says "your partner isn't ready". I have tried trading between my gold and silver, silver and crystal, I tried a different link cable, nothing helps. Any help would be appreciated.
     
    In what order do you talk to the women in both cases?
     
    I talk to them at the exact same time. The link cable I am using has one end that is grey and one end that is purple, and the gameboy that the grey end is connected to is the one that asks me to save.
     
    Try this and tell me if this works; Talk to the women first with the version that makes you save the game prior. When you get to the screen that asks if you want to overwrite the current game, then talk to the women with the version that usually says "Please Wait."

    Tell me if that works.
     
    It will only ask me to save after I have selected 'yes' to "Do you want to trade?" on both games. So no, that doesn't work, thanks though.
     
    Just using a GBC cable won't work because the plug in ports for GBC and GBA should be different. I'm afraid that if you want to trade between those games, you'll have to grab up two GBCs and a GBC link cable. Or if you're lucky enough, you can find a third party cable on eBay or Amazon that will work. I've heard cases of them working with GBAs that are linking two GBC games. That's all I have to say though. Next time, please use the simple questions and answers thread.
