Diamond and Pearl could be like Pokemon Dash. If you have the game in the GBA slot, All you have to do in the GBA game is have your party Pokemon. You know how in Pokemon Dash you could upload tracks to race with your Pokemon. So I'm thinking the D/P cause will be exactly the same.

None of them. I'd like to start fresh and train all new Pokemon. I'd be bored if I beat the game too quickly with an old team, and by raising a new team I'd be able to re-learn battle strategies (ha ha, after a year of non-play I got into my LeafGreen yesterday and couldn't remember if grass was good against water or not xD). I guess this would be a disadvantage when considering Wi-Fi battles, but I don't think I'll have too much time for that, anyway :<

More details about trading to D/P
You can transfer a maximum of 6 pokemon each day. (Not trade)
This isn't confirmed yet, that after you transfer the 6 pokemon from your gba to d/p, you have to go to a nearby park in the game and hunt them down and capture them with a park ball.
