4th Gen Trading With Same DS?

Can you trade in between Pearl and Diamond on the same DS using the GTS? I tried but it doesn't show up my other cartridge's pokemon. Should I assume I can't?

Well I wanted to send a metagross to Pearl so I sent in a Wurmple for trade for a metagross and then got on Diamond and searched for my Wurmple (Searched the Gender and <Level 9) and 5 results came up and none of them were my Pearl game...

Why dont you just find someone trust worthy to be the middle man for your game transfer

That is definitely a possibility I guess, though it's hard to find people who are not only trustworthy but also in my time zone, I just figured this would be an easier way to do this if it were possible.

It'd be too hard to use the GPS. Somebody could have claimed your poke before you could, especially if it's a super-good trade :P

Well I just offer a shitty pokemon for a good one then trade my good one over... If someone trade it, oh well I got the pokemon still haha.

So yeah, I don't care if anyone trades my Wurmple for their Metagross, but it's annoying not being able to trade with myself.
