Traditions

If you call it a tradition:

On Christmas Eve, my dad's extended family comes round to my place around about 7-8. There is about 35 of us in total, 10 being kids (including myself)younger than 18. When they come in they place all the presents they have under the tree and with a big family like mine there are a ton of presents
All the guys/dads are usually downstairs playing darts and Mahjong while drinking beer and setting up the BBQ.
The mums and ladies are usually upstairs preparing the food and gossiping about... well what ever what they chatter about.
Myself being the eldest of the children I usually have to look after the other 9 -babysit them. Usually consists of the boys playing on my Xbox or Playstation 2 and the girls drawing on the table in my room.
At around 9 everyone eats, then a few games at 10, hand out the presents at 11, open at 12.

Christmas Day my family goes to my grandparents house with my mum's family which is smaller. Eat lunch, secret santa, open presents and then forced Karaoke.

Easter, family comes round to my house and all the little kids have an easter egg hunt.

Pretty much it since we don't have Thanksgiving here and Halloween isn't really celebrated here either.

Half of my family is a strict Orthodox Christian. (Russian thing, I'm a little less so, but I respect their traditions enough to follow along with them). We celebrate Christmas on the 8th of January, as according to our calendar.

Ever since I was little, my family developed a day we call "Trash Day" (Roughly translated), which is the day before normal Christmas (24th). On that day, we all gather and basically rip on everyone and anyone we don't like outside the family, be it people from work, class, school, clubs, anyone. I have no idea how it started, or why we do it, but it is one of the funnest holiday traditions we have. Sitting around in a huge circle, drinking and eating, and telling stories of how stupid people are. it doesn't get any better than that.
