3rd Gen Training vs Rare Candy?

Yea, about EV training, i gave my Charmder the berry that lowers your def.EVs by 10, but i never had any def EVs so what happened?

Nothing. Unless you are playing Emerald, then it increases the Pokemon's Happiness.

I used to level pkmn up with rare candies all the time until I learned about Evs. Evs make your pokemon powerful in battle tower and online.
