Treath of Shadows: Journey into the Darkness (Adopter RP)

"I am Kindle." the Torchic replied, maintaining a watchfull eye on the Absol in front of her "And we all have our own reasons for being here. None of which concern you." there was a fierce glow in Kindle's eyes, one which suggested that she was well prepared for violence if need be, but that she really didn't want to bother. Suddenly, the Torchic found herself distracted by a worried voice from somewhere fairly close to them.

"Miyako?" the voice, apparently male, asked.

Kindle turned around, noticing that a peculiarly coloured Cacnea had just climbed up from the river and seemed to be looking for someone. This was just too suspicious.

OOC: Now I'll make something happen that was just waiting to do so. X3

IC:

As Twilight continued down the trail, she perked her ears up at the first sign of noise. She could hear voices--real voices, mind you--down a little, close to the river. Wanting to investigate thoroughly, she picked up the pace, flying down the hill until she was actually going much faster than she anticipated. As her panic grew, she realized that it was very much impossible to stop running quietly..

Oh well.

She instantly tried to come to a full stop, but that was a mistake. The action made the whole thing worse, throwing off the Girafarig's balance, causing her to tumble, fall, and crash into a pile of twigs, most of them snapping as she did so.

Prime example of my luck right there. Twilight thought to herself, wincing with pain as she got to her feet. Then, she realized that those other Pokemon.. They might have heard her.. Dang..

OOC: Meh, have to go to class after this. I'll be back though in an hour. We're watching this movie Crash and it's all about racial discrimination. And it's not a happy-ending one either.... I don't really like watching those kinds of movies. I am fully aware of the hardships minority groups in the US go through, because many of my friends (and some of my extended family) have told me firsthand accounts. It just ends up depressing me. Oh well, at least it's better than actually doing work. ^-^

Miyako & Needles
-------------------

"Oh please," Miyako scoffed, "I would not dream of trying to harm an Absol. I agree, I would not survive the battle, and I would not harm you either, because there would be nothing to be gained from it."

She peered at Pandora, who was still feeling her feathers. "Just don't pull on them. I can preen them back into place, though I can't stick them back in if they've been pulled out," she said in a softer voice. She looked surprised at herself. She never realized she could be so nice to children. Though, she had never been around children much.

--------------------

Needles got to his feet, and looked around at the Absol, Torchic and Mareep. He walked over to them absentmindedly.

"Um... Miyako!" he called, looking around, "Oh Miyako! Where'd she go?" He stopped short of the group noticing that the Torchic had heard him, "Hey, did you guys see a Taillow fly over here somewhere?"

He spied the rocks above them, and recalled on how high Miyako had flown in the air.

"Oh! Perhaps she's on those rocks somewhere? She does like high places," he told them, nodding happily.

That's when they all heard some sort of crashing noise from a short distance away.

Boudicca's fierce gaze seemed to intensify.
"Have you noticed yet?" she asked sassily, ruffling her mane, "how many pokemon there are on this mountain? Most of them haven't come with their own kind, either..." she shot a glance back at Pandora and Caesar, who were both harrassing a taillow.
She turned back to kindle, and opened her mouth, but whatever she said was drowned out by the crash.
She jumped to her feet, only to see a girafarig lying sprawled amongst the twigs. "You okay?" she called.

----------

Pandora and Caesar froze too; Pandora had been rubbing her face against Miyaki's wings ("You're soooo soft!") and Caesar had been sulking, but both Cleffa and Cyndaquil spun on the spot at the noise and clung to each other.
"No no!" Pandora cried, "The demon pokemon are back!"
"Help, they're going to sit on us again!" Caesar moaned, until he saw who he was hugging and pulled away. Both children made a huge show of brushing themselves down and making wretching noises.

ooc| I might have to go too... ;;

"Ugh.." Twilight managed to get out. Now, she had attracted unnecessary attention to herself. Perhaps she should have never left the clan.. Never wanted to explore the lake.. But how could you never do something you wanted to? Confusing..

At the Absol's question, she nodded, although she wasn't sure whether she should just bolt..

"Uh.. Yeah.. I'm quite alright.. Going too fast, there." She gave a weak smile, sweat-dropping.

"That's not how shadow pok?mon sound, silly! That's just a rock-" Kuro exclaimed before realizing that he was supposed to be in hiding and hastily clapping a paw over his mouth. "Oh bugger..." he muttered sheepishly, Kindle was going to give him a right good tongue-lashing if she heard about this.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kindle shrugged, granted all of these occurences were strange, but this Absol was a part of them. She didn't have time to voice any kind of reply however as a loud rumbling sound, none too different from that which her own Rock Slide attacks caused, became audible from somewhere nearby.

OOC: Oh dear, so many people leaving. ;.;

IC:

And so, Twilight stood quietly in the brush once more, not really sure whether to move or stay put. She wasn't sure if the other Pokemon were going to come after her, but as long as they weren't going to hurt her, that was great.

She found that the only thing to do for the moment was wait for that majestic Absol to speak to her again.. For she was the only one out all the Pokemon gathered that had spoken to her so far.

OOC: Yes, it's a sad thing it is. ;___; Gawd, I can't even post a proper IC now! >.<

The absol drew herself up to her full height, puffing out her ruff so she looked paticularily impressive.
Her red gaze flicked from Kindle, to Twilight - and a smile spread across her face. She began to laugh, in a relatively good-natured way.
"Be careful in future, eh?" she dropped back down into a sitting position, wrapping her scythe-of-a-tail around her haunches. "This place is dangerous; speak too loudly and you'll cause an avalaunche, walk to fast and the rocks will give way... Don't want you guys hurting yourselves." She spoke in a mothering voice to the little girafirig; they were about the same size, but there was something about the young creature that made Boudicca want to fuss over her.

Meanwhile, Pandora and Caesar had abandonned Miyaki temporarily and were running (in Pan's case, bouncing) over towards Boudicca.
"Booooodi!" the Cleffa called, and latched onto the absol's front leg. Caesar looked bored.

Twilight smiled at the Absol's words. They were so reassuring.. As the Cleffa clung to the Absol, seemingly calling her by a pet name of some sort, she gave a reply.

"I'll remember that the next time I come up here. Which won't be for a while.. Stupid clan.." Twilight spoke, saying the last few parts a wee bit softer, jabbing at the fact that her freedom was really supposed to be limited to the perimeter of land that her clan owned.

"And sorry.. Didn't introduce myself, my name's Twilight."

"I know that." Kindle replied defensively, although Boudicca's comment seemed mostly aimed at the Girafarig to whom the dark pok?mon seemed to have taken a rather peculiar, almost motherly liking. "And I'm not the one doing the stumbling around here." she listened in silence as the Girafarig introduced itself as 'Twilight' "You shouldn't speak of your clan like that." she scolded, her voice sounding unusually heavy with emotion "What would you do - where would you be - without them? A family is a very precious thing." she said, her voice sounding solemn and a bit sad as she continued "You don't realize how important it is until you've lost it."

OOC: Oops, shouldn't have deleted that. XD

IC:

At the Torchic's words, Twilight tilted her head in thought.

"Hey, what's your name anyways? In fact, what are all your names?" She replied, then becoming naturally curious again. She hadn't realized that she'd forgotten to ask their names, and now she was anxious to learn them. Perhaps they could all be friends..

Grr, I have such wishful thoughts. They'll probably be on their way in the next hour.. The Girafarig thought to herself, sighing mentally.

The absol laughed. "Family's not everything." she had a deep, booming voice - if she had been human, she would have been african, she spoke in such a warm, lucid way.
"These two dear ain't got no parents, but they get along okay with just me, don't you?"

Pandora chirruped a 'yes' in reply, but Caesar simply grumbled. He folded his arms over his chest defensively, and stared at the ground, while Pan snuggled closer to Boudicca's leg. She didn't seem afraid of the huge beast in the slightest.

"Well, nice to meet you, Twilight." Boudicca bowed at the Girafarig, "I'm Boudicca. Don't let my EVER catch you calling me Boodi, mind." She gave them all dark stares, while Pandora sang. "The Cleffa is Pandora - or Pan, or Panda, or Pandi, or.... well, any varient. And that's Caesar...." she jerked her head in the Cyndaquil's direction. He simply grunted.

{ooc| I'm still warming up. Gettin' into character... Ah yes.

Okay... I gotta do some maths homework... I'lll check back in half an hour or so.}

OOC: Back! Oh, and Charon... um, it's 'Miyako' not 'Miyaki'. ^-^;

Miyako & Needles
-------------------

Miyako stared at the Meowth, not looking surpised, after all, she had seen it hidden among the rocks as she had flown overhead. She watched as the two children next to her ran down the rocks and toward the Absol they had been speaking of earlier. A quil flick of her feathers and they were all in order again.

"Hm... I suppose we had better follow them," she said to both herself and the Meowth, "Besides, Needles is probably across the river by now." She flapped her wings a bit and then took off down toward the large group of pokemon that were below.

Needles was happy to see Miyako show up again though. "Miyako!" he cried, running up to her, "I thought you had left me. I was all alone with this Torchic and this Absol and this Mareep! Although, they look like nice people to me."

Miyako blinked. Why didn't she leave him? At least then she could be finding a place to hide from all this, and not standing out in the open with what could very well be the easiest catch in the world for a bunch of shadow pokemon.

"I'm gonna go see that Girafarig. They're supposed to be really kind and smart. Wanna come along, Miyako?" the orange cactus asked, looking over-excited.

Miyako simply shook her head. "I'm staying here of course. I'm not one for racing around and talking to all sorts of strangers. Especially not Girafarig. What you've heard about them may be true, but I think they're sneaky and strange."

Shrugging, Needles ran off to stand over by where the Girafarig and the Absol were standing along with the two children.

The Girafarig nodded slightly, repeating this new name over and over again in her head, to help burn it into her memory. She had never heard such a name before.. Perhaps it was a part of a different culture or something. Oh well, it was still very interesting nonetheless.

She remained silent, hoping that the other Pokemon in the area would want to introduce themselves as well.

"I am Kindle." the Torchic replied to Twilight's inqury before turning to adress Boudicca. "So, these two are orphans, then?" she asked, peering at the two little creatures at the Absol's feet. The Cyndaquil was acting tough, putting on a brave face and pretending to be strong despite its puny size, it was almost a comical sight to behold, as was the Cleffa's doe-eyed affection for Boudicca. "That's...a pity. But it's not like they don't have family as such." the Torchic added "Why it seems like you're for all practical reasons their mother."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yeah...I, I guess so..." Kuro muttered in response to Miyako, quickly scampering off and making use of the commotion to slip into the crowd unnoticed, gently patting Kindle on the back to make sure she acknowledged her presence. The Meowth peered with interest at Twilight, never having seen such a creature before, but was feeling too shy to make a big number of himself and remained silent.

OOC: Gawd, what the heck is with this writer's block? *stabs self* XD

IC:

Twilight peered with interest at all the Pokemon that were moving about. A Torchic.. Apparently Kindle.. An Absol.. Apparently Boudicca.. A Cleffa, a Cyndaquil, a Mareep, a Cacnea, a Taillow.. Wow, the list certainly went on. And they weren't even a part of her clan.

And if they were not a part of her clan, than why the heck were they over here, anyways? She found it a rather unsafe question to ask, but she didn't know why.

That's when she noticed that some other Pokemon was watching her, but not saying anything. Nya, thank goodness she was part Psychic, finding the culprit quite quickly. She found an odd-coloured Meowth staring up at her, near Kindle. He seemed to want to say something, but something was holding him back. The Girafarig shrugged mentally to herself, not saying anything more..

Miyako & Needles
--------------------

"And I'm Needles. Don't be afraid of me just because I'm a Cacnea either. I know there are lots of stories about people like me, but I'm not like any of that," Needles said, sticking himself into the conversation.

He looked behind him, "Oh, and that Taillow over there is Miyako. She doesn't like other people. I really don't even think she likes me; but she saved my life so I go where she goes."

Still standing silently a few feet away, Miyako pretended she hadn't heard her name. Needles merely smiled at her.

He then peered up at the Girafarig, "It is true that Girafarig are smart and kind?"

Twilight peered down at the Cacnea that had approached her, introducing himself as Needles. Wow, already she was getting lost in the conversation.

"Hello.. Needles." She said, pausing as he made another comment, about Girafarigs being smart and kind. That definitely left her dumbstruck.

"I've never heard anyone refer to my species that way before.." She said quietly. She wasn't the greatest at handling compliments of any sort, so she found that the best way to reply was to shrug it off, and not bring anymore attention to herself, although she knew it wasn't the best method.

"I think I've heard that one once!" Kuro suddenly squeaked, his eagerness to learn about all of these strangers finally overpowering his shyness about them "Erm, I'm Kuro by the way." he added, smiling shyly at the others "I'm the little sidekick for the great warrior hero, Kindle." he beamed at Kindle who flinched slightly at this remark.

"Don't be daft." the Torchic retorted flatly, "I'm on a personal mission, as you should well know considering that you practically begged me to take you along on it, not some foolish fame trip." she kicked a pebble on the ground irritably. Why could Kuro never keep his mouth shout when he should?
