I love doing nuzlockes, in fact my friends and I challenge all of us to beat a randomized nuzlocke every now and then, but a few days ago I was thinking... is there such a game where if your pokemon faints, it is literally dead, no longer useable? I have noticed this (Pokemon Silver Nuzlocke) but I was wondering if anything like it existed on a newer generation? (Gen III at the very least, Gen IV would be incredible)

I apologize if this is in the wrong section, I put it where I thought best.

Also, what do you think of the idea? To have a hacked pokemon game which literally forces your pokemon to be killed ("released") when it dies. Good or truly terrifying? The problem I have with this is... what happens when you put a pokemon in the PC? Since you have 6 pokemon max, if you catch another... does it stay stuck in the PC or vanish or??? Since putting it in the PC kind of heals your pokemon.

So... thank you very much if anybody can tell me of some that are nuzlocked into the game!

    Sincerely,
    Green

Nah, you're all good in this forum. Anyway, I'm not much of a hack person, but that would be a pretty interesting take on Nuzlocke to have the game automatically take the Pokemon away. And...pretty depressing. But still, would make it easier in the technical side...but more difficult emotionally. I don't Nuzlocke for this reason. :(

But you have to catch the first thing you find, so that'd be lucky if it was Eevee. XD That's why you go with Umbreon anyway, so you can take hits. ;) But then again, getting it to the point of evolving will take a while.

I've personally never done a Nuzlocke and likely never will. It just goes beyond my normal play style and while I'm okay with getting out of my comfort zone from time to time, it just gets as far away as possible to where I don't think I'd even enjoy myself.

While I've never heard of a ROM hack that had this feature, I do however know a few RPG Maker games do this; Pokemon Zeta, for example. After first creating a save file, should you start another game, you will have the option of doing a challenge run, which is basically just a built in randomizer, nuzlocke, or both. With the nuzlocke mode on, while you're not forced to release the Pokemon, any attempt at reviving said team member will fail. (This includes PC visits, computers, Sacred Ash, ect ect.)

If there is such a ROM hack, however, I'd love to play it, seeing as near every run of a Pokemon game I do is in nuzlocke fashion.

Anyway, not sure if that's what you're talking about or not, but that's about as much as I can say.

That sounds like the closest there is to a Nuzlocke Pokemon game. It would be cool to see a game that implements Nuzlocke rules automatically, with Pokeballs being off limit to the next Pokemon you find in a route after the first, and fainted Pokemon being unable to be recovered. Here's to a Pokemon fan making a Nuzlocke ROM hack.

Nobody else has any ideas about a nuzlocked hacked game? I was hoping to find one like what I posted, except for generation III or something. Also, the link I posted on the first post, the game is great, it actually does kill your pokemon, plus it can be randomized, except for the gen 5 EXP. I do not believe that will work.

I don't remember seeing any hacks that use it, but somewhere buried in the R&D section are a couple posts about removing fainted Poke's after a battle. Failing that, one could always edit the Pokecenter scripts to not revive fainted Poke's and remove Revives (and similar items) from the game.

I'm actually planning on having an option for hard-coded Nuzlocke rules when my Emerald hack is done, and I'm planning to take that a step further and have whiting-out delete the save data (forcing a restart from the beginning) as well. The catch-only-the-first-Poke-you-see rule will be more difficult, but in theory it should totally be possible. It's on my list of things to do potentially after release, but not high priority at the moment.

...How is it coming along? It seems like it would be a fantastic game. (Considering that my friends and I usually play Emerald Nuzlocked.)

I just have 1 question. Would it be possible to randomize? Or has there been so much work done to it, that it would be impossible to randomize? That is all. (But I will be bookmarking you so I can keep tabs on the game, it sounds great.)
