Spiteful Memories

Sometimes I can only remember
the hurtful memories
but when you come around
you only make them worse

You make the pain intensify
like a campfire flame
engulf all that you have known
and carry away the ashes.

You're merely a harpy
praying on the innocent boys
I was a victim of your
spiteful tendencies

But unlike the others
I fought back
and reclaimed that which was
taken from me

You tried to break me down
just like the rest
and now you've failed
you've met the best

And then I got this from listening to another song...but the title slips me...

My Feelings Known

Today was so very special...
I said how I felt to you...
The message was sent
and apparently it made it through...

Now I sit and wait
hoping for a reply...
And the message came from you
And it left me answering why...

You wanted me merely as a friend...
yet I wished for more...
Yet it doesn't get to me because
I'd love you from the highest mountain to the oceans shore...

I respected your response and
there's no more nervousness.
I got your answer that I wanted to know
and I've sorted out the mess...

My feelings were known
and they were answered to
Thank you for everything my love
For knowing my feelings grew...
