Tyranitar Buddy Glitch?

I first had Tyranitar as a buddy but even after walking 5km, I didnt get a candy. The buddy circle in the bottom left even filled up and reset multiple times and still no candy. I then switched to a larvitar and the same thing happened, any help?

It's a glitch I have to deal with as well when I had my Scyther as a buddy, so you are not the only one nor it is Tyranitar the only Pokemon that has that glitch. Both the buddy system and the egg walking system are both a bit broken. It has improved a bit after this last major update (with Gen 2 being added), but they both still need work.

Check on your Journal just to be sure if you did get a candy. It usually appears on there.
