ummm.... is Jesse really poor?

I know that they hinted that she had a low economical life, but didn't she reside in this castle in "Holiday Hi-Jynx"? You know, that palace on a mountain that you see in the beginning of the episode where they train to capture Santa and showing the flashback of her encounter with Jynx, later on in the episode where she encounters the real Jynx that took her doll, and in the end where Team Rocket are in bed (and horribly bruised at that.) and Jynx appears at the window and uses lovely kiss. It can't be James' place since:
a. they never met when she was younger,
b. And even if they did, James doesn't want to return to his folks home thanks to them basically wanting him to marry Jessebelle against his own will.
It just seems to me that she wasn't always poor.

O.O good point i never really thought about that.
But i thought that was Santa's house that they slept in in "Holiday Hi-Jynx"... or maybe it was one of thier Team Bases, that the Boss let them use for the holiday...
:\ either way, Jessie does describe being poor in the episode, but she seems to be able to do alot with her childhood. (nurse school, ninja school, team rocket training...)

Well she has failed most of teh things she had tried, and her only achievement is being a failure team rocket, I think she considers herself poor but is unaware to what everyone else thinks.

I think it was her abandoned foster home since the Rockets used it in their sting as Santa (by the story) had visited her there before. But I, too, wondered about the castle as it doesn't seem like a Rocket base (be more technical, I'd think). Either way, with the retconning of J/J's past -- Training Daze -- I wouldn't worry much about this. Although, from Sweet Baby James, the writers prove they have somewhat of a memory but all the tidbits of their past from Season One-Three seem like a distant dream anymore.

I don't really seeing Team Rocket owning a castle. Just seems strange to me if they did.

I always thought of Jessie being poor. Maybe that castle was some sort of orhanage boarding school for poor childern. Maybe in that episode Team Rocket used it a sting to try to trap Santa. So really the castle didn't belong to her but she just lived there because she had to because her mother was never around. I remember something about her mother never being around.

Well the ninja school could have been something free. Maybe Jessie left the orhanage and ran away to a ninja school. The the nursing school could have been the same thing too or used the little money she had to pay for tuition. Rocket Training could have been free with joining.

Dark Charaxes has it right. Musashi's mother vanished from her life while searching for Mew. She was left an orphan and spent her life in various foster homes. The dub swayed around this subject in several episodes regarding her past, even in the Santa episode.

Originally, he couldn't deliver her present to her because she had moved to several other homes due to moving around from one foster family to another. The dub has him say it's because she stopped believing in him (although this change was for the better - how could Santa NOT know this?).

yeah.. I agree.. I can see James from a rich background, but not Jessie. I can't seem to even visualize her as a rich lady. o.o
