Unexpected file format

My game works fine but when I try to open the .rxproj file to edit it, it says unexpected file format. Is there a way to fix this and if not is there a way to get all my maps and data from my old game and put it into a new game?

If it's just the .rxproj file, you can copy that file from a new clean project and replace it with that.
(It's basically a fancy text file. But this is easier to explain)
