Well, I haven't played this game for quite a few years. Six years at the least, I think. Anyway, I got back into it a month or so ago, and I've been fiddling around with modifying the Meganium Starter Deck with some of the cards I've pulled from packs so far. Let me know what you think, and what needs to be changed. Oh, and a name would be cool, if you have suggestions. Here goes:
Basics (13)
Chikorita x3 (HGSS)
Turtwig x2 (1 HS Unleashed, 1 DP Majestic Dawn)
Sentret x3 (HGSS)
Tropius x3 (HS Unleashed)
Shaymin x2 (1 Landmin from Platinum, 1 Skymin from HS Unleashed)
Stage 1 (6)
Bayleef x2 (HGSS)
Grotle x2 (1 DP Majestic Dawn, 1 HS Unleashed)
Furret x2 (HGSS)
Stage 2 (4)
Meganium Prime x2 (HGSS)
Torterra x2 (1 DP Majestic Dawn, 1 HS Unleashed)
Trainers/Supporters (14)
Pokemon Communication x2
Interviewer's Questions x2
Professor Oak's New Theory x1
Bill x2
Mom's Kindness x1
Engineer's Adjustments x1
Switch x2
Professor Oak's Visit x1
Good Rod x1
TV Reporter x1
Energy (23)
Grass Energy x22
Double Colorless Energy x1
Pokemon Breakdown (For ease of quick-glance)
Chikorita 3/2/2
Turtwig 2/2/2
Sentret 3/2
Shaymin 2
Tropius 3
Strategy
Pretty straightforward, I think. Get a Tropius on the field ASAP be it by drawing in the first hand, or by Furret, or Pokemon Communication. From there, start Green Calling all your heavy hitters in. Often, you'll already have bits and pieces of the Chikorita/Turtwig line in your hand by the time you start calling things in. Chikorita becomes Meganium very quickly, and Leaf Trans goes into effect for easy energy movement. Turtwig becomes Torterra for really heavy hitting. If your opponent is playing around with a hard hitter over 80 HP, come in with the Majestic Dawn Torterra and Frenzy Plant it out. Otherwise, Solar Beam picks everything Basic Pokemon off pretty quickly. Also, the HS Unleashed Torterra has some nice survivability with Giga Drain. I've tested it out and moves pretty quickly against my friend's decks. Of course, we've all just been getting back into it again, so none of us are really big strategists.
So, thanks for all your help. Really, all these cards are the best I have for the time being, but I'll definitely be looking out for anything that gets mentioned.
Oh, and yeah, I know the trainers are a little bit all over the place. Like I said... I'm basically just working with what I have. XD;
