Who likes the idea of the Unova region being so isolated from the others? Personally I don't at all! I liked that connectivity between the other 4 regions, I don't know what it was but there was connectivity, now this one is just so far away it feels wierd? Anyone else opinionated on this?

It gives everyone who works on Pokémon-related media based in this region a lot more creativity to express ideas slightly foreign to the franchise (Castelia City is a major example). In my opinion, it's a great idea, and it's been working pretty well so far.

But don't you prefer it with the regions all being compact into one single part of the world so that in a way they are all linked? Because in all the games, all the other regions got a mention etc but in this one its almost like a new Pokemon universe. I'm talking about the anime too. It just seems really wierd, something I have watched and played most of my life just change like that :L But thats just me, I don't like change at all, but most people like fresh change but I'm just one of the people that doesn't which is most likely the reason why I do not like it.

I don't see why it's such a problem. And in a way, it brings the Pokémon world slightly closer to our world, doesn't it? It's not like everyone in every country understands everything about all the other countries. A fair number of them don't even know most countries even exist. Creating this alienation has the potential to add a very real aspect to the storyline -- culture clash. And of course, as JB said, by not being so closely linked to the other Regions then Unova can have an almost completely clean slate as far as domestic developments are concerned.

Also, Black and White (the games) mention every region by name. And that's just the surface. There are at least a few direct mentions/allusions to Team Rocket/Galactic, the Kanto Fighting Dojo, and so on.
Plus, here's some pictures from the anime:

Yeah true like I said I don't know what it is, its just something that doesn't feel right if you get me. I'm sure I will come too terms with it more as the anime series goes on for longer.
