Unova's Pace

Theres been a lot of talk about this around the section, but I guess this would be a good place to talk about this. Okay, so most of you that have been watching Best Wishes (or Black and White in the dub) would know that the anime has been going at somewhat of an interesting pace this series, Ash got his third badge in episode 25. Though then we get a big gap to the 4th gym which will now be happening in the 52nd episode. As a lot of you know DP carried on through 4 years, and a lot of people got bored quickly, with some very big gaps of episodes and some very small gaps between each gym.

But anyway, to be a little more clear. This thread is to discuss the speed of Ash's journey through Unova and weather you'd like a slow pace like DP, or maybe let him go through it fast like in his first journey through Kanto.

I'd rather like Ash to get through Unova and Best Wishes to end in at least the end of 2012. Then I'd like Ash to travel East Unova, or something like the Battle Frontier to promote R/S/E remakes. Though, you know. I would rather like for them to do something unexpected and new.

If you prolong it too long then we are just going to get senseless fillers. If the fillers are of good quality or something of excitement happens then the pace being slow is fine. As long as the mix in fillers with development or new captures then it's all good for me.

In DP the long wait was between Candice and Volkner. And plenty happened of note.

- Hunter J incident with Regigigas
- Ash and Paul battle at Lake Acuity
- Ash battles Palmer
- Hunter J disappears MIA
- Team Galatic Final Appearance
- Ash captures Gible
- Monferno evolves into Infernape
- Dawn receives Togekiss
- Ash meets Flint and Bertha

I am sure their are more but that is plenty of things that happened between a large gap.

I think if they keep the pace like they are now they will have some what time left. Like I said in BW051 topic they will probably get to Driftveil quick it will take them awhile to get to Mistralton and Icirrus cause of the length of those routes and Chargestone Cave and Twist Mountain. Then the Icirrus Moor might take a bit and then you have a short Route 9 along with the Tubeline Bridge of course. I don't think they will be bogged down by any Connoisseur contests if they had any. Cause if they did I am sure we would have heard of them by now. So not having to be sidetracked also helps speed up the pace some. Not to say Cilan and Iris won't have things they do.

Well, I wasn't bothered by the very long D/P since many of the filler were good. About B/W, I do want it to end faster. It's not because I hate it, in the contrary, its because I can't wait to see the finale. The most interesting part. And I wanna see how will they handle a new series. So, I unfairly want it to end soon but only to reveal the outcome.

I want the Best Wishes pace to go at a happy medium (not too slow, not too fast), and have just the right amount of fillers between gym/rival battles.
