    This is a project I've been working on for about a month now: a remake of the original Base Set. The project is called EX: Starting Point. It consists of a total of 120 cards, excluding a promotional card (below) and a box topper. The 120 is a mixture of 18 holographic cards, 15 rare cards, 14 uncommon cards, 34 common cards, 13 Trainer cards, 7 Pokémon-ex, 3 Pokémon-*, and 16 Energy cards.

    Changes to the original set
    There have been several changes to the original Base Set. To start, ten of the Pokémon originally in the set have had their type changed (but not to a type - or to types - they would not normally have). Also, 22 of the Pokémon have had their original rarities changed.

    Changes that may be made to the modified set
    In the event of a fourth-generation Pokémon being shown before the set's production is officially underway, as long as that Pokémon has a relation to one or more of the Pokémon in the set, the set list will be modified. For example, an evolution to, I don't know, Farfetch'd. I know the idea sounds a bit far-fetched (heh heh), but you never know. If the event occurs after the set has begun production, the card will possibly be made as a promotional card (e.g. 121/120, 122/120, etc.).

    Set spoilers
    All set spoilers are now complete, with help from some members from another forum. However, the only spoilers to be revealed publicly will be ones for the next cards I am creating; these will be shown on the Starting Point website (link below).

    Production of the set
    Visual production, i.e. the making of the cards, will begin shortly. Within the next fortnight I will be getting a laptop, which will have Adobe Photoshop CS on it. I have had enough time on CS elsewhere to produce a promotional card (below).

    Promotional Release
    This is a broken version of the Blastoise card in the set. It wasn't broken until someone showed me some errors on the card; the spoiler has now been modified.

    The original idea was to release an evolution line at a time; but seeing how long that'd take, I'm thinking of releasing 1 rare/rare holo/ex/*, 2 uncommon, and 3 common cards at a time (with 6 cards total released every so often). I've seen how it works with EX Acanthite - very well indeed. However, I might not use this idea, just so I'm not copying... If I stick with the original idea, Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite ex will be released first.

    I believe it is allowed to post a link to the set's site.

    To name it Base Set 3 you'd have to include all Jungle cards and Fossil cards... and maybe Team Rocket cards.

    Please, there is awfully better art for Kanto Pokémon from Ken Sugimori...
     
    I'll be using the original Sugimori art for Blastoise, Venusaur and Charizard. However, every other card that uses Sugimori art will use his most recent art.

    I don't like Base Set 3 myself.

    Anyway, what do you think of the card itself?
     
    The card... has you said has quite some brokenness issues... but apart of that I don't see anything misplaced or bad grammar/ortography...

    I'm sure better fakers (not completely rusty, like me) can point out other things... if there are some...
     
    I remember what I forgot to post in my last reply...

    I used the Sugimori art that I did, and therefore that generation of Sugimori art for the three main Pokémon, because his updated Blastoise illustration shows Blastoise's back. I don't particularly like this picture:

    EX: Legacy
    EX: Return of Heroes
    EX: Starting Point

    And I can't choose, so I'm probably going to pick one out at random. Complete random.

    Yep, I'll do that later tonight and let you know of the result.
     
    I'm going to wildly throw stuff out.

    Thesis is a cool word. EX: Thesis of Origins/Origination, something like that. EX: Inception (sounds like conception, never mind), EX: First Flight, EX: Inspiration of Power, bah....

    The Japanese FRLG set was called Flight of Legends alluding to Zapdos/Articuno/Moltres ex, since you have them in their shining forms... no I can't think of anything. ..Initial Force?



    Bah I'm useless. By the way do you need artists? If I ever become unlazy, I'd maybe like to try my hand at a few commons or something and see if you like them, and a whole set of Sugimori might be overkill..?

    Confirmation that I should be getting my laptop in about a week, so I'll be starting the set in August.
     
    Ultimately, I prefer Legacy to STarting Point, but SP fits the set more. I'll use EX: Legacy for a later set. Promise.

    August, because the week after I break up I'll probably sleep 20 hours a day. :P Plus Cascade's ill, and I don't wanna put pressure on for the blanks.

    On topic... I think you're strating working hard on your set in August right??

    I'll regret for not seeing the cards coming then... I bet...
