Thanks to that thread, I got interested in a serious response to this. So the only portable processor I have is an old laptop running Windows 95. I'm wondering about two things.
1: If I could upgrade it to 98SE considering I don't have any hardware drivers to restore anything after a drive format. It has the base 32MB of RAM (which can apparently be doubled with a slot-in card) and a ~240Mhz Pentium. If I can do this are there any USB adapters that plug into something like the old style mouse socket? If you recall after all, one of the main offerings of 98 over 95 is USB compatibility.
2: If there is a current day equivalent, by which I mean a laptop with its power converter built inside instead of hanging off annoyingly on a cable. This laptop uses a standard desktop power cable, which is pretty handy. It's also not ultra thin and will survive drops. Are there any basic laptops that are built for durability and reliability rather than cheapness and light weight?
