Issue: Username issue

    I'm trying to create a new account so I can access PC on my PSP. But, when I entered the username I desired it says it was already taken, but I checked and it wasn't taken. Any help please?
     
    Users who are banned don't appear on the members list. Think it's the same for members with zero posts but I'm not sure.
     
    I've also noticed that if you try and use someone's previous username before they got it changed, it'll also say that's taken. When I tried making an alt. "Kagebouzu" long after my alt. with that name got it changed, it said it was taken, but when looked up, it wasn't.

    For fun, I even tried another member's previous username, which had -somewhat- random numbers in it, making it highly unlikely for some newb to come along and take it. And unless that person made an alt. with that exact same username, it was also taken.

    Members who have fewer than a certain number of posts (I forget how many at the moment) won't show up in a search. So, unfortunately, if the forum says the name's taken, then it is and it's just not showing up.

    I see a lot of people on there who have an account with no posts though.

    I guess thats what happened to me.
     
    I'm also sure that banned members do not appear on the list, therefore it could belong to one. That could potentially be the poisen to this problem.

    Wouldn't it make sense for banned and changed usernames to be avaliable so people don't run into this problem? Or is this just a vBulletin default?
     
    If you want an easy way to look up to see if a member name is taken go here

    https://www.pokecommunity.com/member.php?username=USERNAMEYOUWANTGOESHERE

    And replace the USERNAMEYOUWANTGOESHERE with the username you want. Members may not appear in searches, but their profile certainly does this way. n__________n That's what I always do to check to see if someone has a name I want to hold on to when I'm obsessed over something.

    I thought you guys changed that, because I believe I remember seeing people with zero posts on the member's list before... unless I was delusional. D:
     
    YEah there are plenty of users with zero posts in the member list, even on the page.
     
    @Charizard: Patchisou Yutohru's method still doesn't show if the username was changed in the past.
     
    I thiiiiink an admin can create the account for you if it won't create it through the register function but I'd have to try it out to be sure. :s
