4th Gen Using global trade

    Hi all,

    I have been playing HG since it was released and still have things to do and pokemon to catch on it (I play slowly). I am a somewhat 'older' player and certainly don't have friends to trade with. I also only recently purchased a wireless router (I have never needed or wanted one before) so can now use global trade. However I read in the game's manual that when using the GTC you cannot search for pokemon not in your pokedex nor can you request them as part of a trade. I would really like to get hold of a Bagon but how do I do this if they are not in my pokedex?

    I welcome your advice.
     
    Only way besides somehow seeing it used by a trainer in the game beforehand is to use the Nintendo Wifi another way - ie exchanging friend codes and trading with people over these forums - that way you can request anything you want. You'd want to use the Trade Corner section for that, and in particular the Quick Trade thread sticky there. But if you rely on that method alone you cannot get Pokemon you have not yet seen.

    However... you can actually get Bagon in HGSS' safari zone. It's in the swamp area after you get the National dex, but you need to place '9 Forest Objects and 19 Peak Objects' (at least) in that area... a full 110 days after having activated blocks for the first time in the Safari Zone (which might not matter if you did that ages ago, but yeah).
