I have done some research on Japanese Pokemon trophy cards. I have heard that the ones distributed from the tournaments in the 90's can sell for at least half a million US dollars, especially the set of three 1997 Pika trophies and the 1998 Pikachu Illustrator from a drawing contest.

I have also heard that the 2000-2002 Japanese trophy cards are unique in the sense that each name has the name of the winner. That means, it is impossible to find two cards with the same winner's name.

I am wondering if those 2000-2002 trophies will fetch six figures in US currency.

    What is your opinion?

Not yet, I'd imagine. Mostly because market awareness has to be there first.
