Vampires assinstant?

I loved the book series and I think the movie looks really good from what I saw in the trailer. The only thing I was a little worried about was John C. Reilly playing Mr. Crepsley, because Mr. Crepsley is pretty dark and serious in the books, and John C. Reilly is known for playing funny characters. But again, from what I saw in the trailer it looks like he's done a good job. I'm definitely going to go see it. Just because it's a vampire series doesn't mean it's anything like Twilight, which it's not, at all.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Twilight and Cirque Du Freak started filming around the same time (in February 2008 sometime). Twilight just came out sooner, so I don't think they made this series into a movie because they thought it would do well as it's another vampire series like Twilight, since they were filming at the same time. If anything, it'll be better because they took their time producing it and didn't put it out only a few months after filming was finished. I'm not gonna say it'll DO better, just because Twilight was made into such a huge deal. (Although, imo, this series is MUCH better than Twilight, which I'm not very fond of.)

Anyone know if they're making the whole series into one movie, if this is a movie about JUST the first book, or if it's a few of the books rolled into one movie? From what I saw in the trailer, it seems as though they've put parts from the last book into the trailer, but it just seems like WAY too much to have happen in one movie (there are 12 books in the series) unless they changed it a lot. It's called The Vampire's Assistant, which is the title of the second book in the series, but the trailer has parts in it from the first book (just called Cirque Du Freak) and parts that came from the last book. So I'm a little confused.
