Vaporeon , a Mermaid-Canine pokemon?!

Um... I would like to point out you could be wrong about that. Just look at Espeon, it evolves from Eevee but is certainly a cat... Of course I prefer to think of Vaporeon as a fox, though i have to admit it could be a cat if looked at in the right way.
I can see your point: It is more likely to be a fox, but you can't say it for certain.\, only the person who created it would know for sure...

Threads like this just end up going on forever, everyone refusing to accept the ideas of others, no one providing any solid evidence... I suggest we all reach a comprimise: Lets just call it a mermaide pokemon.

Hmmmm ok , but i still believe it is a nice mermaid dog , i will stay that way , and if i thould be a cat i remix it in my fantasy :) Like you wrote better ask the original authors.

It looks like a dolphin/dog. It has the dolphin tail! =D

Hmmmmmmm also true

P.S. like lighting wrote Vaporeon may be a remix (note , this pokemon german name is Aquana) , the creators simply remixed all of the animals and created Vaporeon , and this pokemon is now a quoestion : Canine of Fenine? But unlike earth dogs , this pokemon live in water so it is other than the earth ones , in my opinion Satoshi san imagen a dog who lives in water a'la Human/Mermaid (Dog/Vaporeon). This my opinion :)

Growlithe, a dog, evolves into Arcanine, a cat. ZOMG.
Arcanine isn't a cat. It just happens to have tiger stripes. And so does Growlithe, on that note. Arcanine's snout is canine-based as is its body, I think. o.o

But I digress, that's really off topic, heh.

Arcanine? But he is a wolf (i would never imagen him as a cat , but maybe you're right) , no doubt about it. O , the wacky world of Pokemon :\

Right , This is similar to the English "Tasmanian Tiger" , who has a stripe , however in poland , he is called "Tasmanian Wolf" , those stripes really can fool people :/

P.S. this not offtopic , since we're talking about Vaporeon origins , this post is usefull to help solve the mystery named Vaporeon

Remoraid is a fish, and Octillery is an octopus. ZOMG.

I still don't understand this topic. Pok?mon is filled with things like this. Who really cares that Vaporeon is a canine-fish?

hmm i was playing Pokemon Blue and viewing info on Vaporeon in pokedex , it shows there that it is often mistaken for marmaids , so like i said , the true creator may create a dog of the sea like Marmaid being humans of the sea :) So this could have other origin than the land dog , since vapoeron stand most time in water , Satoshi san maybe maked a evulution in which the dogs come back to water and maybe those new dogs whould look like Vaporeon quiet interesing :)

Well, according to the biography on Vaporeon, people often mistake it for a mermaid because of it's flared fin-like tail.

Hmmm i did not see this post , when i wrote mine ^^'
