A lot of us love music. The only unfortunate part is many of us stay close minded to music only sticking to the stuff we know we like, never daring to plunge into the infinite sea of sound. So I propose a challenge. I'm gonna post a song, the next person listens to it, critiques it (in a constructive way of course ^^) and then posts their own song. The next person comes along and repeats the process. Hope y'all enjoy this one :D.

So let's start this off with one of the grandfathers of metal!

The Wicker Man - Iron Maiden

    LET THE GAMES COMMENCE!

there's a thread like this in The Playground, I think, but I love this kind of thread so much that I'm gonna keep it open and encourage people to use it; I started something like this in this board when I first joined and it got locked because there's one over there, but I think it's fit for this forum too. so. here we are. (also, try to include YouTube links in the future!)

anyway, for your song, early Maiden is really good, but I wasn't certain of their reputation as far as their newer stuff goes; this was a pleasant surprise! it's pretty good but I'd still probably rather pull out Number of the Beast or somethin' than this, you know.

Listening to that with your avatar popping in and out in time to the beat made me smile.

This isn't the sort of thing I'd listen to usually, but it has a really good rhythm going and it's fairly easy on the ears...which a lot of Fleetwood Mac songs aren't, in my opinion. It's the kind of song that makes you want to sing along...and I probably would, if it wasn't so late. It is, as you said, pretty iconic, especially the end of it, which I think most people would know if they heard it.

I can't help but associate the end of this song with Formula One, though! xD

Something that runs through my head from time to time:

This songs feels really familiar, yet I can't justify that I've heard it before. :xx

It certainly has a stinky groove to it, I'll give it that. It was catchy from time to time but I'm not a huge fan of the vocals, especially the effect. A fun track nonetheless, even if I don't listen to such a genre often

guess I have a lot of nostalgia attached to this one because it was played around the house a lot when I was really young, but other than that, nah. like, it's okay, but I'll never reach for this; it's all a bit too.... slippery for my liking. you get me. like, it's not bad though. it's relaxing.

recommend sticking it out to the end, if you can; it pays off.

I'm not a fan of the incredibly long build up, and the way it's mixed. The guitars completely drown out the vocals, leaving it sounding a bit messy to me.

Wow it's been a while seen I've listened to McFly haha. Wasn't keen on them then though and unfortunately that hasn't changed now.. still I don't think the song's that bad, it's an alright pop song

jesus, this bangs. been meaning to listen to this full album for the longest time after loving "for the love of ivy" the longest time ago. this has provided yet more incentive. will probably listen to it tomorrow. production on this is unexpectedly massive. love it. dude's voice sounds like the pixies guy's, but better. GOD THIS BANGS. I LOVE THIS. SHE'S LIKE HEROIN TO ME. HOLY CHRIST.

Aye I'm glad you guys liked this thread and decided to let it stay. Honestly like this song a lot an a lot of the easy listening that come from of that sixties and early seventies type sound. My next song is this. A popular classic thats old but holds up.

I love this song. It's so much to play. It's really well written, and the lyrics are great. (It's also a Dutch upload, omg)

I've never heard this band before so you'll have to excuse my ignorance when I say that sounds a lot like falloutboys lead singer, which is cool with me. It definitely gives me that feel with a pop metal sort of vibe. Again that's fine with me overall I'd give it a 7.8/10

This next song I caught the band off GH, not even gonna lie. However after listening through more tracks of theirs I really enjoyed their music.
